Has it all in front of her and while she will improve from the run and her first look at Auckland, she’s got the ability to win this without doubt.  Selections: 7-6-8-3-1  Alexandra Park R1 Final Race time:  2nd 7. Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Cambridge Harness on Thursday 5 March.  Cambridge Harness Race 1 6 Enzo In a field that offers little perspective in terms of leading contenders, Enzo (6) finds a way there almost by default. Relegated at Auckland last week after a late gallop, but the run was very good and anything close to that, without the mistake, would just about be good enough to win this.  Selections: 6-2-4-3-5  Cambridge R1 Open Race time:  6. Enzo (0) J: Benjamin Butcher 06945T: David Butcher 5.50WIN 1.70PLACE Relegated from 4th, galloped late at Auckland last Friday. Risky, but can win. Odds are…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Oamaru Harness on Wednesday 4 March.  Oamaru Harness Race 1 7 Meandad With a little more reliability than most in the first of the day, Meandad (7) gets the nod over some rivals. Generally pretty quick away from the standing start and should eat up the 30m handicap while others are still finding their feet. Good run last time and a repeat of that goes close.  Selections: 7-4-5-1-8  Oamaru R1 Open Race time:  7. Meandad (2) J: Samantha Ottley 96782T: Mark Jones 2.30WIN 1.14PLACE Tidy chase in his Addington 2nd. Couldn’t find a better race & big…

Princess Lisa (1) J: Anthony Butt 22851T: Steve & Amanda Telfer 1.60WIN 1.07PLACE Excellent in her Winton…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Rangiora on Sunday 1 March.  Rangiora Harness Race 1 1 Jack’s Eyre Not a lot of luck has fallen the way of Jack’s Eyre (1) over the course of the past month but a massive upswing in barrier draws today brings him right into contention. Should be handy to the speed throughout and is good enough to get the better of this field. Selections: 1-13-5-10-3  Rangiora R1 Open Race time:  1. Jack’s Eyre (1) J: Ben Hope 75865T: Greg & Ben Hope 4.50WIN 1.85PLACE Racing solidly of late and gets another opportunity…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 27 February.  Addington Harness Race 1 4 Sunsoutgunsout Couldn’t have asked for much more in a first up win from Sunsoutgunsout (4) and you would expect there to be a bit of improvement in that too. Looks a pretty nice horse going forward and while this is a tougher challenge he can certainly win again. Selections: 4-5-2-3-6  Addington R1 Open Race time:  4. Sunsoutgunsout (4) J: Blair Orange 2×1T: Steven Reid 2.25WIN 1.12PLACE Rattled home for 13 Feb maiden win. 3YO with plenty of upside. Top pick here. Odds are subject…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Alexandra Park Harness on Friday, 27 February.  Alexandra Park Harness Race 1 8 Ms Collins In a field of really nice up and coming pacers, Ms Collins (8) may well be the brightest of them all. An extremely talented filly with it all in front of her she could not have been more impressive winning here earlier in the month. Wide draw to contend with, but any luck and she’s getting home over the top of them.  Selections: 8-4-6-7-3  Alexandra Park R1 Open Race time:  8. Ms Collins (8) J: Anthony Butt 2×1T: Steve & Amanda Telfer 4.00WIN…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Palmerston North Harness on Thursday 26 February.  Palmerston North Harness Race 1 4 Run Blaze Run A string on minor placings in the last four starts tells the story of Run Blaze Run’s (4) chances here today. Is knocking on the door of a victory and all it is going to take is for someone to open it. This field doesn’t measure up to some of the others either so today should be the day.  Selections: 4-1-3-2-5  Palmerston North R1 Open Race time:  4. Run Blaze Run (4) J: Jay Abernethy 52222T: Willie Fleming…

Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Winton Harness on Thursday 26 February.  Winton Harness Race 1 5 Roseanna The manners were a bit of an issue for Roseanna (5) over at Cromwell last weekend but getting back onto the all weather here might be the key to success. No doubting the ability is there to be winning, just needs to put it all together to make it happen. Selections: 5-2-4-7-1  Winton R1 Open Race time:  5. Has been knocking around in some strong fields over the past few months and slides down into the amateur grade today. A great follower of speed, look for him to be charging at them late.  Selections: 5-4-6-7-8  Addington R1 Open Race time:  5. Style Council (5) J: Blair Wilmott 73863T: Kyle Cameron 7.00WIN 2.05PLACE Closed with purpose when the gap came at Mot. One…
