The final major of the season looks a compelling affair with Royal Lytham & St Annes hosting the 2026 Open Championship with both Nelly Korda and Haeran Ryu both winning two majors apiece this year and looking to sweep this year’s calendar while there are plenty of other challengers knocking at the door. It was certainly a very special day to be a Kiwi at Royal Birkdale on Saturday. Ryan Fox ($8.00) was one of my featured bets in Saturday’s daily video from the iconic links. The first round is in the books at Royal Birkdale. Just six holes into his championship, Scottie Scheffler ($6.00) had surged to 4-under and into the lead, with early murmurs already suggesting he could stroll to back-to-back Claret Jugs. That momentum stalled as the day wore on, however, with Scheffler losing two strokes on the greens over his back nine. Cameron Young ($11.00) is another to keep a close eye on. The fourth and final major of the season is upon us with Royal Birkdale in northwest England hosting the 154th Open Championship. Royal Birkdale first hosted the Open Championship in 1954 with Peter Thomson (twice), Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller, Tom Watson, Padraig Harrington and Jordan Spieth listed amongst the winners. Major season heads to France for The Evian at the picturesque Evian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie. A tournament that dates back to 1994, it gained major status in 2013 and has been won by the likes of Lydia Ko, Jin-young Ko, Minjee Lee and Brooke Henderson with Australian Grace Kim the defending champion. The third major of 2025 is as highly anticipated as any other with the famed iconic Shinnecock Hills hosting this year’s US Open. Shinnecock Hills opened in 1891 and is one of the sternest tests in golf, an incredibly difficult course that saw Brooks Koepka win with one over par when this venue last hosted the US Open in 2018.
