Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the seven races at the Addington Harness meeting on Sunday 2 August below:
All the form points toward Better Man (2) breaking through for his maiden today. Lovely draw in a wide open field and the recent runs have been great in better line ups than this. A sweet trip and a cold shot at them and he should deliver.
Selections: 2-6-8-7-4
| 2. Better Man (2) J: Thomas Borcoskie 52634T: Robbie Holmes | |||
| Within 1L of winner here, 19 July. Form overall good enough to give this a shake | |||
Decent wee drop back in grade here for KD Grins (5) after some strong runs in good Friday company. Second three starts back was in a similar field to this one and with the usual good manners should be right in play here.
Selections: 5-8-3-2-4
| 5. KD Grins (5) J: Robbie Close 65267T: John Howe | |||
| Sound last week and manners will put her into the contest. Needed on all tickets | |||
A big winner first up from a spell, Woodlea Diamond (8) has found herself in very good races in the two runs since behind Larissa Beaudiene and Mynameisjack. Decent slide back here and while drawn wide, does possess very good gate speed and could fly across them early and find the right spot.
Selections: 8-1-3-2-5
| 8. Woodlea Diamond (8) J: Kyle Cameron 6×199T: Thomas Twidle | |||
| Two battling efforts since winning 1st-up. Drawn to need luck but not the worst. | |||
Very fast pacer when cuddled up and saved for one run, Arinitti (5) has been a lot better of late than the form might look and could be the surprise packet here. Just needs that right run to bring her right into contention. Look out if she’s looming turning for home.
Selections: 5-4-7-8-6
| 5. Arinitti (5) J: John Dunn 17886T: Robert & Jenna Dunn | |||
| Solid since justifying favourtism 1st-up. Closer alley here and hard to hold out | |||
Driven cold, off the speed last week Coba Charged (5) finally looks a little more like the Coba Charged of old. Charged through the line well in a field much stronger than this. A good pointer that things are heading back in the right direction. Can win this.
Selections: 5-7-3-1-4
| 5. Coba Charged (5) J: Sam Thornley 58743T: Jeremy Pearson | |||
| Overcame check to finish 3rd last week. Obvious hope with a clean beginning. | |||
Form in the Darren DeFilippi Memorial looks really good and Didn’t Di (8) was third there. High speed trotter who would get all of these for point-to-point toe. Just needs to be close enough turning for home to make it happen.
Selections: 8-7-6-4-3
| 8. Didn’t Di (8) J: Tayla Duley 52483T: Matt Purvis | |||
| 3rd in tougher line-up, 17 June building on long run of form. Looks ready to win | |||
After a string of really good efforts, the run here last week by Touch N Go (2) was probably the best so far. Lands here with a good draw to use and if able to make the most of it would be a very deserving winner. A great chance.
Selections: 2-7-4-1-11
| 2. Touch N Go (2) J: John Morrison 33322T: Brian Zampese | |||
| Model of consistency this time in and drawn to grab herself an overdue victory. | |||
