Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Oamaru on Wednesday 10 December.
Only a solitary start earlier this year before heading to the paddock for a spell, but A Bettors Legacy (2) lined up against some very nice types in that one run. Has been handy in trials ahead of today’s resumption and finds a very winnable race first up.
Selections: 2-6-8-4-1

Really nice resumption at Timaru in behind a pretty promising one from Mighty Flying Miki (3). Sure to have taken plenty of benefit out of that effort and with the aid of a good draw here should be able to roll across to the markers and run them along with own terms.
Selections: 3-2-6-9-4
3. Mighty Flying Miki (3) J: Samantha Ottley 4×4T: Mark Jones
Patiently handled in trials and workouts ahead of today’s debut, Amistozo (6) was let loose in her trial last week and ran away for an impressive win in very slick time. She looks a horse who won’t be held in the maiden grade for too long and can begin with a bang if the manners transfer to race day.
Selections: 6-5-3-2-1
6. Amistozo (6) J: John Morrison T: John Morrison
Plenty to like about the last two runs of Logan Rock (7) ahead of today. Two really strong thirds and both in races arguably tougher than this one. Should be able to land a good spot from here and be close enough to launch an attack turning for home. Deserves a victory.
Selections: 7-1-5-4-12
7. Logan Rock (7) J: Robbie Close 96533T: Andrew Stuart
After defying the laws of logic to win here on the all weather last month, Take The Miki (8) returns. Big and impressive in that victory and should go on with it provided he stays sound. Grass no worries, but might need to do some work again at some stage to out-muscle his rivals.
Selections: 8-2-7-9-11
8. Take The Miki (8) J: Carter Dalgety l32x1T: Warren Stapleton
Not much went to plan at Orari on Saturday for Miles Away (18) but is well over the odds here. Had been super in his last half dozen runs prior to that and really grows a leg on the grass. Bit of ground to make up here but can stalk into it and have the final say at a nice price.
Selections: 18-11-20-10-12
18. Miles Away (4) J: Sam Thornley 15238T: Murray Tapper
I said never again last week, yet here we are. Fear And Faith (2) back on top. Looked to be travelling peaches and cream at the 400m before rolling into a gallop. Back onto the grass and she’s trialed up nicely on the grass before. A nice trip and a full round and she’s well in play today.
Selections: 2-1-8-4-5
2. Fear And Faith (2) J: John Morrison x7508T: John Morrison
A good draw for the first run out of maidens tempers the concerns a wee bit about the step up in grade for Still B Miki (2). Looks to have plenty to learn still but a pretty good motor too and with a good barrier can find the right spot and be dangerous in this.
Selections: 2-1-10-5-7
2. Still B Miki (2) J: Blair Orange 1T: Ken Barron
Second up from a spell and with a strong second placing under the belt fresh, expect Stormy Vista to have a role to play here today. Should relish getting onto the grass and with a good beginning can find a forward position and be right in the fight.
Selections: 6-12-9-4-14
6. Stormy Vista (6) J: Samantha Ottley 038×2T: Mark Jones
