Missile Stakes 2026 Tips: Predictions & Best Bets

Missile Stakes 2026 Tips: Predictions & Best Bets

We have Missile Stakes predictions and best bets for the first Group 2 race of the Sydney racing season, which runs for $300,000 at Randwick this Saturday.

It’s a star-studded field for the 1200m feature sprint, including Everest contender Angel Capital, rising star Ninja, and fan favourite Gangsta Granny, who all have serious winning chances.

Best Bet
#2 Ninja @ $3.90

There was a chance of Ninja going under with Missile Stakes predictions, but punters have caught on to the quality 4YO gelding.

He ended last preparation by running fifth behind Sheza Alibi and Autumn Boy over the mile, and he lost no admirers with that effort. We believe he’s a better sprinter, and his recent trial win over 900m speaks volumes.

The son of Farnan is bred to handle 1200m better than most runners in this field, and with four wins and three placings from eight starts, he has been a good thoroughbred for punters to follow.

The Missile Stakes barrier draw suited him when getting barrier six, as he’ll likely settle midfield before coming with a sustained run. He’s facing an elite field, but he’s more consistent than Angel Capital, and punters should gravitate towards the joint second favourite.

Next Best
#7 Gangsta Granny @ $3.70

We love a bit of Gangsta Granny. She is a quality 5YO mare, and although the $3.90 odds are on the thin end of value, we can’t leave her out of our Missile Stakes 2026 predictions.

The Hawkes-trained mare has established a good race record of five wins and seven placings from 12 starts, so she has yet to finish worse than third. That’s an impressive record, especially with many of her runs coming in tough grades.

She finished third at Group 2 level to end her autumn campaign, and she has been freshened up with a spell. We expect her to hit the ground running, and getting the inside draw with a light weight and Tim Clark riding is a huge asset.

Clark is a genius when it comes to judging pace in front, so look for Gangsta Granny to settle on the speed and give punters a sight in front.

Best Roughie
#4 Midnight Dynamite @ $9.00

Most of the roughies with Missile Stakes betting are paying mammoth odds and have no real chance of winning. We’ve landed on Midnight Dynamite at $9, which is a solid price for a horse that is up and running this preparation.

After winning four of his last six races, the 5YO son of Pierata could keep his form going into the spring, and although he hasn’t faced genuine Group 1 contenders this winter, he can’t be overlooked as an each-way hope.

In five starts at Randwick, he has yet to finish worse than second. He’s good enough to sustain a solid tempo, and he could run this field into the ground early before gripping onto a first three position.

Punters need a runner that can boost payouts, and Midnight Dynamite is a runner to include in picks. He’s paying $2.05 to place, and if the favourites aren’t forward enough to win, he could graduate to the next level.

Same Race Multi

There is a lot of value in taking a same race multi, and the payouts can be massive.

We have all three of our selected Missile Stakes runners included in our same race multi, which pays $6.10 at the TAB.

We’re going for a more conservative approach for the Missile Stakes because it’s a tough race. We have Ninja Top 2, Gangsta Granny Top 3, and Midnight Dynamite Top 4, which have a good chance of cashing for punters.

If you want to take a big risk by leaving out Angel Capital, punters can include Napoleonic Top 4, which boosts payouts to $16.50 at TAB.
