After taking on Franco Salah and co in his last start at Alex Park, Billy The Kid (6) should find himself much more at home here today. He’s largely been up against some very good fields this time in and this is a huge drop back. Great bet to start the night.

After proving to be a consistent performer in this grade in recent runs, Mandala (8) looks primed to make a winning bid here. Drops back from a strong field last time and while drawn the outside of the front line, just needs the drag into it at the right time and will be hard to beat.

Four really strong starts to kick off the career by American Falcon (7) and in four very good fields up at Auckland too. Comes to Cambridge for the first time, but looks a sensible horse and should be able to make the debut a winning one.

Returned to winning form in fine style last time out did Son Of Patrick (3) and in a field that is no stronger it’s hard to see how the turn the tables on him. Gets in well off the front, just needs to bring the manners and is the horse to beat.

As a 19 race winner, Rough And Ready (5) looks really well placed here. Form might not quite be as strong as it once was but if you break down many of the recent runs, he’s been very solid and with a small field of rivals gets his chance to return to winning form.

The best of the rest in a very strong field here last week, So Mystifying (6) should return to winning form today. Has been excellent in both runs and provided a good beginning comes off the unruly then should be taking the final race of the night out.
