The TAB has Winx Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 1 feature race out of Randwick this Saturday.
Winx Stakes odds have Autumn Glow as the favourite, but there has been solid betting support for Sheza Alibi to beat the odds-on pop.
It’s tough to look past Autumn Glow as the best bet with Winx Stakes tips. The quality 5YO mare lost no admirers with her defeat last time out in the autumn, and she was tested over longer distances, which didn’t work out.
She was also at the end of a tough campaign, but her best form could come this spring, and we think she’s good enough to take on the world at some stage of her career.
Punters will need to dig deep into the pockets to take the $1.90 odds, but that’s a fair price given her ability. She draws to get the perfect run from barrier 3, which is why we’re putting her above Sheza Alibi.
James McDonald will give her a sweet trip in transit, and she should power over the top of them late in the run.

| Has won previously first-up and resumes here after a break of four-and-a-half months. Finished off last preparation third of 7 at this track in the G1 Queen Eliz April 11 over 2000m, 2.5 len behind Sir Delius with 57kg at $1.30. Previous preparation first-up favourite; won by 2.75 len this track G2 Apollo February 14 over 1400m defeating Aeliana carrying 57kg at $1.40. Champion mare who can keep her undefeated first up record intact. | |||
Connections of Sheza Alibi are going to have some fun this season, and she is the obvious threat to the favourite.
Her autumn campaign couldn’t have gone any better when winning all three starts, and she blew her rivals away most of the time.
The 4YO mare should have only strengthened from that campaign, and the sky’s the limit for her spring carnival, which is a scary thought.
The only reason we’re not putting her on top is because of the barrier draw and her age. She has only just turned four, so she might not be as physically mature as Autumn Glow, and she also gets an inside draw.
She’ll need some luck, but if it comes at the top of the straight, her explosive turn-of-foot could be enough to win, so include her in Winx Stakes predictions.

| Has won previously first-up and resumes here after a break of four-and-a-half months. Finished off last preparation by posting a big 4.5 len win at this track carrying 49kg in the G1 Doncaster April 4 over 1600m slow track defeating Autumn Boy at $1.90. Previous preparation first-up favourite; won by 2.25 len Caulfield G2 Armanasco February 21 over 1400m defeating Salty Pearl with 58.5kg at $1.50. Exciting mare who kicks off in a strong Winx, will need to be good from the rails draw. | |||
Beiwacht is a big upset danger to the favourites. He is a rock-solid 4YO, who comes off a big win at Randwick over 1400m.
There is nothing wrong with his form, and being unbeaten over 1400m is a big tick. He also has a size advantage over the mares, and he could impose himself midway down the Randwick straight.
We have little doubt that he will win at Group 1 during the spring, and although he’s coming up against some superstars, he’s every bit a superstar himself for Chris Waller, so include him in all Winx Stakes tips.

Punters get value odds with our Winx Stakes SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
We have Autumn Glow To Win, Sheza Alibi Top 2, and Beiwacht Top 4, which pays $9.50 at TAB.
Punters get $2.60 for Beiwacht to finish in the Top 4, which is a lovely price, and that’s where the value resides in our SRM.
