Show County Quality 2026 Tips, Predictions & Best Bets

The TAB has Show County Quality tips and predictions for the big race at Randwick on Saturday, which is the curtain raiser to the Group 1 Winx Stakes.

Show County Quality odds have an even contest for punters, and it could be a tightly-run race over 1200m.

Best Bet
#9 Soothsayer @ $4.20

Soothsayer is up and running this preparation, which could make a big difference. The 7YO gelding won at Eagle Farm before scoring at Ipswich last start, and Queensland form has stacked up well this year.

He has yet to face a field of this nature, but he has long been a good bet for punters. He owns seven wins and four placings from only 19 starts, so his strike rate is impressive, and he shouldn’t go under the radar.

Our Show County Quality predictions are happy to include him at the odds. He doesn’t mind the sting out of the track, and if the track improves to a good surface, that doesn’t worry him in the slightest.

The inside draw with Rachel King riding is ideal, so leave him out at your peril.

#7 Macha Latte @ $6.00

He’s a progressive runner who looks capable of taking another step forward this preparation. Although he has just four career wins to his name, he has already proven he can measure up to this level.

The market has been encouraging, with solid support arriving throughout the week. He opened at $7.50 and has been well backed since, which is a significant move for a horse resuming from a spell.

He looked good when winning a recent Rosehill trial, which adds to our confidence levels, and it’s enough to include him as a value bet with Show County Quality predictions. He is a crafty type who rarely runs a bad race.

Best Roughie
#5 Infancy @ $13.00

Kris Lees takes Infancy to Randwick, a track where the gelding has built a solid record with two wins and three placings.

The market hasn’t shown much enthusiasm for him, but his lack of form on wet ground goes a long way towards explaining that. He has only managed two placings from six attempts on soft or worse surfaces, so a drying track should bring him much closer to his best.

His latest run also deserves plenty of respect. Infancy finished just 2.9 lengths behind Group 1 winner Splash Back last start, and something close to that would be enough to go close in this race.

At double-figure odds, Infancy is a runner worth including in first-four and SRM bets.
