Wimbledon 2026: Ladies’ Day 7 Tips & Preview

Wimbledon 2026: Ladies’ Day 7 Tips & Preview

We have an array of intriguing matchups on Day 7. Of the 8 players remaining in the top half, 7 of them are top 16 seeds and the other (Krejcikova) was the champion two years ago. Anyone who fails to produce their best will be going home.

Belinda Bencic
vs
Coco Gauff
2:50am* Monday | Round of 16 | Court 1
Bencic WIN ($2.20)

Gauff has two majors in her trophy cabinet but it has become clear that Wimbledon will be the most difficult mountain for her to climb. The 4th Round is her best result in 6 prior attempts and she is 0-3 in 4th Round matches played at SW19. Bencic on the other had made the semi finals here a year ago and is playing just as well, if not better, this time around. Gauff has won 5 of the prior 7 meetings in this series but they have played out some very tight matches. Three of their last four have gone the distance (3 sets) but this will be their first meeting on grass. That leans the scales further to Bencic as she is more capable of standing up on the baseline – taking the ball on the rise. This match will be on her racquet and if she can keep her unforced error count low, she will win.
Best Bet: Bencic WIN ($2.20)

Karolina Muchova
vs
Barbora Krejcikova
11:30pm* Sunday | Round of 16 | Court 2
Krejcikova +2.5 ($1.87)

In this all-Czech battle, Muchova is the top 10 ranked player but it is Krejcikova who is the two-time major champion. Already this week Krejcikova has shown us the value of experience and prior success on grass. She scored an upset win over French Open champion Mirra Andreeva and enters this match with a 2-1 advantage in the H2H against her fellow countrywoman. All three of those meetings were on clay and there is no question that Krejcikova has an even bigger advantage on this surface. Muchova is riding a 7-match win streak following her title-winning run in Bad Homburg but we will be taking Krejcikova with the start.
Best Bet: Krejcikova +2.5 ($1.87)
Value Bet: Krejcikova -1.5 Sets ($3.80)

Jessica Pegula
vs
Iva Jovic
12:00am Monday | Round of 16 | Court 1
Pegula -2.5 ($1.73)

It is always a good sign when a young player can save 14 of 18 break points faced, and that is what Jovic did in her win over Alexandrova. There is a concern though and it is the number of points won on serve. She managed to win only 56% of 1st serve points in that match and that figure is in line with her two prior meetings against Pegula – both this year and both ended in defeat. Pegula recorded 8 breaks across those two matches compared to only 3 for Jovic and it is her consistency from the baseline which was the major difference. Pegula’s 6-3 6-1 win over Bouzas Maneiro was her best match of the tournament and she is finding her best tennis at the right time. Sticking with the veteran.
Best Bet: Pegula -2.5 ($1.73)

Aryna Sabalenka
vs
Naomi Osaka
2:10am* Monday | Round of 16 | Centre Court
Sabalenka -3.5 ($2.00)

Osaka is slowly returning to the form that made her a four-time Grand Slam champion but she will be wondering what she can do to avoid running into Sabalenka. This will be the fourth meeting between them this season with Sabalenka winning all three matches. The biggest hurdle that Osaka needs to overcome is the Sabalenka serve because she has managed to generate a total of only two breaks of serve in the 7 sets they have played against one another in 2026. In comparison, Sabalenka has 11 breaks in total with 3+ in each match. Osaka has had difficulty beating the world’s best in recent years with a total of two wins against top 10 ranked players in the last 5 years. On that alone we will be backing Sabalenka with confidence.
Best Bet: Sabalenka -3.5 ($2.00)
