Warwick Farm Tips & Preview | Wednesday July 15

Seven races will be run and won at Warwick Farm this Wednesday, May 15th.

The rail will be left in the true position for this week’s meeting; while improving weather in Sydney this week has seen the Warwick Farm track rated in the Soft (6) range at publish, with scope for further improvements.

Check out our Warwick Farm tip sheet below.

Warwick Farm Race 1
3 Castillo King

Castillo King debuts at Warwick Farm this week. While obviously having yet to contest a race, Castillo King has shown good ability at the trials and has improved for a couple of them. With options in the run from the rails draw, I’m confident he can hit the ground running.

Warwick Farm Race 2
12 Rocket Girl

Rocket Girl showed promise at the trials prior to her debut and worked home well behind the likes of Extremely Tempted at Hawkesbury in April. She’s had the benefit of a couple of trials ahead of this week’s resumption and on exposed form, she looks a key winning chance.

Resumes from a spell after only one run when 3rd of 8 at Hawkesbury 2yo Hcp on April 8 over 1100m, 2 len behind Extremely Tempted carrying 56kg at $2.80. Worth including in numbers.

Warwick Farm Race 3
3 Claudel

Claudel has made three appearances since debuting, incredibly finishing the runner up on all three occasions. With further improvement this week and even luck in the run, this does look her opportunity to go one better.

Recent form sound. At the latest run tracked the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 10 at Randwick Kensington Super 3yo Mdn-Sw on July 1 over 1150m, on rain affected going; 3 len behind Ready Forcocktails with 55kg at $4.60. The start before that made ground from midfield; 2nd of 10 at Canterbury Super 3yo Mdn-Sw on June 17 over 1250m, slow going 3 len behind Gatwick with 55kg at $2.10. Been desperate for this rise in trip and is ready to get off the mark.

Warwick Farm Race 4
1 Iceman
Each Way

Iceman has mixed his form a little in recent weeks, but this preparation has seen him produce some excellent performances, highlighted by a victory in BM72 company here back in May, while he has found form around some above-average horses. With some relief in the weights this week and getting out to a mile, I think he gets plenty of ticks, and the $10 about him at publish looks a touch of overs.

Open Race time:
1. Iceman (10)
J: Mollie Fitzgerald 61kg
31467T: Clarry Conners
At the latest run 7th of 10 at Randwick Kensington 4yo+ Bm72 on July 1 over 1400m, on heavy track; 5 len behind Miss Busslinger with 58.5kg at $10. The run before that 6th of 11 at Rosehill Bm78 on June 13 over 1500m, on a slow track; 3.5 len behind Emirate carrying 58kg at $13. Not keen on his chances.

Warwick Farm Race 5
5 Satono Jasmine

Satono Jasmine stripped fitter via some competitive performances earlier this prep before recording a dominant four-length victory in maiden company up at Gosford last month. Having since franked that effort with another stylish victory in BM64 company, she does face another obvious rise in class this week, but steps out in peak order, and the manner of those two recent victories suggested something of this quality won’t be beyond her either.

Chasing a hat-trick. Most recently won by 4 len at Hawkesbury Bm64 July 2 over 1600m on a rain affected track defeating Squeezebox carrying 57kg at $4.60. The start before that won by 4 len at Gosford Prov Mdn-Sw June 18 over 1600m in heavy going defeating Sirius Moss with 57kg at $3.30. In great form and should be right in the thick of things again.

Warwick Farm Race 6
8 Jarrito
Tip of The Day

Jarrito has won two of five starts since debuting, including an easy effort in BM64 company at Randwick-Kensington when resuming this time, while she was last seen finishing just over half a length behind the winner in a substantially stronger Saturday metro contest. Fitter third-up and back to the midweeks, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.

8. Jarrito (2)
J: Rachel King 56.5kg

Third-up today. Resuming came from midfield and won by 2 len at Randwick Kensington 3&4yo Bm64 June 10 over 1000m on a rain affected track defeating Lull with 58kg at $3.70. Second run from a spell tracked the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 12 at Rosehill 3yo Bm72 on June 27 over 1100m, slow going 0.9 len behind Lighthouse Lass carrying 55.5kg at $9. Has returned in great order and finds another suitable contest.

Warwick Farm Race 7
6 Mamushka

Mamushka is yet to strike in three runs back this time, but there’s no doubt that she has been on the improve, and she was last seen finishing second behind Mrs Maree in a similar race here last month. In peak order this week, she has drawn nice and low and should get her opportunity under Chad Schofield.

Warwick Farm R7 – Tab (Bm72) Hcp
Open Race time:
6. Mamushka (2)
J: Chad Schofield 59kg
2×502T: Tom Charlton
Last start held ground to the line 2nd of 12 at this track F&M Bm72 on June 24 over 1300m, 0.8 len behind Mrs Maree with 60kg at $12. The race before that ran second last of 11 at this track 4yo+ Bm72 on June 3 over 1300m, slow going 7 len behind Aye Aye Captain carrying 59kg at $10. Peaking now and is the one to beat.
