Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 19 June.
Talented trotter Tyron Eros (9) returns here and steps out for a new stable in Gerard O’Reillys. Really sharp trial at Ashburton last week, showing a bit of his well known high speed. Needs to stay relaxed and not get too keen but good enough to win here first up.
Selections: 9-7-3-5-1
A lovely drop back in class for Kotare Rimu (1) here given his last start effort for fifth was behind the brilliant Jumal. Has raced with distinction all campaign in some very good fields. Gets some serious relief here and from the inside draw should really be winning.
Selections: 1-5-7-6-10
Runs on the board and everything but a win next to the name for Regal Summit (3) this time in. Just gets out and trots and gets into the right places to be a chance and if things go the same tonight then might be good enough to hold off all challenges.
Selections: 3-5-9-7-2
Spruiked as a pretty talented type in the first campaign, Franco Harlem (6) just looked a little raw. Time was always going to be a friend and has been given some of that. Finds a nice race to resume from and the stable should have all the boxes ticked to make him the horse to beat.
Selections: 6-4-9-1-5
Got it wrong last start from the stand but the unruly for Dornish Hill (6) this week should help a lot. Was super two starts back behind a very good mare and if he can recapture that kind of form here then he’ll get the second win of the career without too much fuss.
Selections: 6-7-10-9-4
Classy mare Esmeralda (7) returns from a spell here with a very slick Ashburton trial win under the belt. She made huge inroads last campaign to be one of the best mares in the country and she can kick off her tonight on the right foot to carry that on.
Selections: 7-5-6-4-2
Back to the trials for Amistozo (2) following her impressive first up win here last month. Super trial it was too and more importantly she looked comfortable behind the mobile arm. Good field here and it’s a definite step up, but she’s got a lot in front of her and expect her to go close here.
Selections: 2-6-10-3-7
Any concerns that Scrunch (1) wasn’t going to get the standing starts lasted about three strides in the fresh up run. Pinged and delivered an impressive win. The one draw might make things interesting here, but if able to get away and be close enough to the speed then should really win again.
Selections: 1-6-11-5-4
The front running tactic last week might proved not to be the right one for Seaside Croft (7) but go back to her first few runs and it showed that from off the speed, he’s very very good. Can sit off it here and look to have the final say and with a bit of luck can win.
Selections: 7-10-3-2-5
