Tidy effort first up from a spell from Rahm (6) last time out when finishing third. Has always looked a pretty nice horse and time was always going to be a friend too. Given that and should be in for a good campaign. Meets a nice field here, but experience and race fitness give him the edge.

Reliability and good manners will always have South Sydney (1) well in play no matter where the race is. Good win last time out making full use of a run on the markers and looks set to grab another one of them here. Poses less questions than all of the rivals, so looks a nice each way bet.

Talented, but very quirky, Hes Not That Into U (3) put it all together last time and delivered in very fine style. Takes on a good field here, but it would be no surprise to see him land on the speed early and with a bit of luck in the running have a bit too much dash for this field.

The real Confessional (1) turned up here last time out and showed what he’s all about. That version of him is very good and actually capable of mixing it with the better trotters in the country. 45m handicap here is a big impose, but with a quick beginning and only a small field to chase he might not be too badly served.

The very capable Lincoln Wave (2) drops into a graded race tonight after chasing around against some stars of the game over the past few months. Takes on experience here, but has the x-factor to be a major player, just needs to catch the standing start right to make things happen.

In the right mood and feeling big and bold, Hillbilly (13) is a bit of a raw trotting talent and we’ve seen glimpses of that in recent starts. On song, he’s very good and if he can trot through from the tricky draw here and get himself into a nice rhythm then he’s a major player in a good wee trot field.

Demolished his rivals here a few starts back and looked a pretty good horse in doing it did Prince Lincoln (4). Lands a draw to work forward again tonight and if he can find the markers and run them along then he’s shown he is very hard to catch.

With the aid of a run under the belt, expect a sharp Bettor Be A Legend (2) to step out tonight. Lands a great draw for a horse who likes to race on the speed and if he can cross down to the markers then there’s plenty of options to bring him right into play. Good enough to win a tricky wee race.

A young debutant from the Mark Purdon barn, Micky Hill (5) doesn’t lack for anything in the breeding department and it’s likely on what we’ve seen that the ability is there too. Manners are the big key here, with them should be well in play.
