Out of the maiden at Methven last week, 6 Beyond Expectations was the one you wanted to be on next up. Excellent work in the debut run and will be so much better for that. Good beginning today and run closer to the speed and should be close to success.

Not a lot of room at the right times up the straight last week for 4 Flyaway, she would have finished a lot closer with a bit more space without doubt. Loves it here and lands another good draw to work from. Expecting her to play a major role today.

A debutant from the Kim Butt stable, 7 Miki Brown has looked above average in some of his trial performances. Clearly a decent motor there and as long as he doesn’t get over-awed by the race day experience and does everything right then he should be right in the thick of this.

No shame in defeat in both runs so far from 4 Arinitti, looks a pretty smart horse who is going to pick one up pretty quickly. Should land in a great spot today from the draw and no issues with the track after debut second here. Hardest to beat without doubt.

No completely at home in the Methven wet last week, 8 Royal Rock can bounce back quickly here. Talented trotter who with three runs under the belt should be peaking about now. Loves the grass and if able to hold up for one crack will get most, if not all, for speed here today at a great quote.

Stonewall Stud pacer 9 Treasure Cove steps out here second up off the back of a good third fresh up behind One For Jay at Addington. Has had a run on the grass for a placing so no issues there and if able to land on the speed again will be halfway to victory.

Got it wrong at Methven last week but the prior second behind Amendment from 7 Call Dudley at Timaru was a truer indication of the chances here. Just needs to catch the start on the right foot and if he does that then he automatically becomes the horse to beat today.

She needs a scratching to get into the field but if she does then 5 Burnham Girl goes from the ballot to the horse to beat. Handy filly with a good turn of foot and will relish this opportunity today from a handy draw. No surprise to see her win if she gets her chance.

Race fitness and a bit of a headstart in the handicaps tips the scales in favour of 8 Moonlite Blood here today. Cracking run when leading at Timaru when run down by Hadron Collider. Still on the way up and the grass poses no issues. Big chance here.

Everybody’s favourite lure horse steps 7 Tu Tangata steps out again here today. Doesn’t mind the grass and should relish this opportunity given some of the races he’s been knocking around in. Can be potent when saved up for one run and could blast on by.

No shame in the Timaru defeat by 14 Riptide, got handled by a pretty handy horse up the lane. Tricky set up here from the draw but a confident drive early could net in a good spot and from there he’s clearly the horse to beat.
