Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Invercargill Harness on Thursday, 9 October.
A fool and his money have been easily parted thus far in the career of 6 My Bonnie Lass but there’s a few signs recently that suggest that the penny is set to drop. No doubt she’d smoke this field if she brought her manners but it requires everything being crossed and hoping for the best.

He flatters to deceive sometimes, but a fresh up version of 6 Here’s Johny offers up a bit of intrigue here today. At his best he’s more than capable of winning and was last seen running in behind good types like She’s Crunchy and Saucy Delight. Might have that little extra pep in his step fresh and be a major player.

Everyone wants a slice of 1 Shiver In The Dark today off the back of a trial winning effort where he downed Indulge Me who delivered at Addington last week. Finds a good race first up too and with the aid of the ace draw has options. Plenty cheering here for the believers to be paid.
Selections: 1-2-3-5-4

She took a while to win a race but 7 Elektra King certainly closed off the last campaign in good style. She’s a progressive filly who should press on with it now. Brings nice trial form forward to this resumption and even from the wide draw will be out to dominate.
Selections: 7-3-6-5-4
7. Elektra King (7) J: Tim Williams 161pxT: Steve & Amanda Telfer
Loved the late work of 9 Havetimetodream last time out when charging through the line. Looks a pretty progressive young pacer who could go on and do a super job over the course of summer. Cops a wide draw here but he’s the class act of the field on what we’ve seen and with any luck can win this.
Selections: 9-5-2-4-9
8. Havtimetodream (8) J: Peter Hunter 34×4T: Peter Hunter
After given them a trotting lesson at Addington a couple of weeks ago, 4 Ya Rite Darl reappears down here in the deep south looking for another victory. Should be able to roll across them early and find herself on the top end and from there she’ll take plenty of catching.
Selections: 4-2-1-3-5
4. Ya Rite Darl (4) J: Tim Williams 24×31T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Some lovely money on offer for the talented 8 Mixed Faith here who drops out of a super rich field at Oamaru last time out behind some quality mares. Has the speed and the game to measure up to anything in this field and a quick beginning should eat up her handicap.
Selections: 8-4-6-11-12
8. Mixed Faith (2) J: Max Hill 62130T: Brad Williamson
The odds are just short enough but given he brings a strong Addington win south it’s probably no surprise to see 10 Rock Or Bust the dominant favourite. Might be a little harder than Addington from the draw though so he’ll need to be every bit as good as the $1.35 suggest to win.
Selections: 10-7-9-5-1
10. Rock Or Bust (10) J: Tim Williams 07×81T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
A little surprising there was such a discrepancy in the opening prices of 3 Beluga and Palladium but the market is correcting itself. Super run fresh up from this underrated pacer and with the aid of that run and a good draw today might look to make the race his own early and not look back.
Selections: 3-5-1-9-6
3. Beluga (3) J: Craig Ferguson 441×2T: Craig Ferguson
