Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Cambridge Harness on Thursday, 30 October.
A strong return to racing at Alexandra Park last week from 2 Enzo when going down narrowly to the promising Tight Lines. Sure to be improved from that run and with the aid of a good draw and a drop back to Cambridge company looks everybody’s right way to start the night.
Selections: 2-4-3-5-1
2. Enzo (2) J: Zachary Butcher 437×2T: Zachary Butcher
Another to return to racing with a strong second placing first up, 4 Potter looks very well placed here tonight. Wasn’t far off Upstage in that run and with the benefit of a bit more fitness tonight looks primed to dominate this field and get the victory.
Selections: 4-5-3-1-2
4. Potter (4) J: Frank Phelan 320×2T: Andre Poutama
A model of consistency of late, 6 President Flynntin is knocking on the door of another victory and looks very well placed here tonight to make that happen. Wide open trotting field where manners will be key and his are great so look for a strong performance.
Selections: 6-3-8-5-2
6. President Flynntin (0) J: Kate Coppins 25522T: Jill Coppins
He’s probably been a little bit disappointing at times recently but 2 Colin McBride should relish tonight’s opportunity to turn things around. Steps back in grade after taking on the likes of Heaven High and Mako and with the aid of the draw should land on the speed and give them something to chase.
Selections: 2-5-6-7-8
2. Colin McBride (2) J: Todd Mitchell 23466T: Andrew & Lyn Neal
After working into the race inside the final half last week, 2 Highview Rockn Roll looked to have rivals in a bit of trouble at the top of the home straight before a gallop. Chance here off the front tape against a small field to jump and run and make them all chase. A complete round of manners will go close.
Selections: 2-7-4-1-3
2. Highview Rockn Roll (2) J: Emily Johnson 53337T: Donald Cossey
Good enough to win a race in the first campaign, 4 Abitibi was then sent to the paddock to further develop and by the looks of the public runs to prep for this resumption has done just that. Beat a smart mare in Diamonds Are Forever in most recent run and looks primed to run a big race here first up.
Selections: 4-2-3-6-7
4. Abitibi (4) J: James Stormont 691xT: Graeme Rogerson
A run of second placings in the last three starts from 1 I Can Too can turn around into winning form here today, especially from the inside barrier draw. Is doing everything but win at the moment but with the marker pegs tonight could scoot around and leave them chasing.
Selections: 1-4-3-5-6
1. I Can Too (1) J: Benjamin Butcher 85222T: Benjamin Butcher
Always had a bit of reputation down in the south as a trotter of promise, but manners let 1 South Sydney down. Now in the care of the Fergusons, the hope is the new environment will help and if the manners are there tonight should start life in the south with a win.
Selections: 1-3-6-5-4
1. South Sydney (1) J: Dylan Ferguson 78x9xT: Dylan & Jo Ferguson
