There might not be a more exciting female trotting prospect around in the lower grades at the moment than 6 Midnight Diamond. She’s really stepped into her own in her last few starts and looks destined for better things. With good manners tonight they shouldn’t be able to beat here.

Lovely first look at Addington Raceway last time out by 6 J T Boe and beaten by a pretty sharp one. Lost no admirers though and with that confidence builder in the bank should put them to the sword here in what is a lesser field and deliver in style.

Plenty of promise from 4 Kyvalley Ray in two starts here in NZ and both have been full of merit too. Only three rivals to contend with tonight and that gives Blair Orange plenty of opportunity to assess the situation and then unleash. Might just be too good for them.

After dishing up a bit of a pacing lesson in a fresh state last time out 1 The Lazarus Effect will look to go on with here and from the ace draw looks primed to do just that. It is a better field than what he beat two weeks ago but he’s still the class animal of the field.

Finding the line with a bit of purpose last week behind Habibti Pat, 16 Zoltan Boscik is sure to take plenty from that run and on the week-round back up should find tonight a bit easier too. High speed trotter who can be driven off them before unleashing. Look for him charging.

Gr.1 winning filly 8 Shezsofast steps out again looking for another feature win here and looking through the line up there are few as qualified as her to win it. Wide draw makes it interesting but she seems incredibly tough so don’t be surprised to see her serving it up around the last bend.

Massive efforts in both runs back this time in from 2 Arafura, both to the eye and on the clock. Charged home last week in a quality field and looked to only have needed to be a few spots closer to really have pushed for success. Lovely set up here and she should be winning.

The value in 8 Mighty Logan has well and truly gone after opening at $11. But a beautiful race for him. Will love the 2000m and with the aid of the handicaps has a chance to settle well in front of his key rivals. If he found the front he’d take some catching.

Race fitness and confidence levels give the big push to 7 Akuta here. Missed Methven in the wet on Sunday so looking for a bonus run here tonight and even off the back mark looks good enough to make his own luck in this and have them at his mercy up the straight.

Lovely to see the real 4 Lakelsa back doing what she does best last time out with a sharp victory. Slightly different set up here but the gate speed is there if they choose to use it which would have her in control and out of trouble. Still good enough to win leading up, but might not need to.

Sectionally you couldn’t have asked for much more from 8 Marketplace last time out. He simply just needed the run under race conditions. Peaking for this and while drawn out wide, could blast across and take control of this and not look back. His chance to end any lingering doubts over who is the best in the age group.

12 Jumal is starting to make a bit of a habit of doing things that only good horses can. Massive victory here last month and has since been back at the trials beating the open class pacers with a sharp turn of foot. Might need that from the draw but his chance to continue the unbeaten run.

A trotter with a whole lot of ability but not yet the gait, 3 Tyrons Strapping Lad gets a chance to kick off the campaign on the right foot here tonight. Will need to trot and do it right the whole way because there are some handy ones in here but pound for pound he should have them covered.
