Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Cambridge Harness on Friday 19 June.
Hasn’t had a lot of luck in the last couple of runs up the road has Hes Not That Into U (6) but sneaks south today looking for an easier assignment and gets one. Two back would have almost beaten a very good field with a gap and that kind of effort here should be good enough to win tonight.
Selections: 6-4-12-8-9
Had to work hard off a second row draw at Alexandra Park last week, but back onto the front line tonight and with the chance to roll forward we might see the Prince Lincoln (7) who dished out a pacing lesson here two weeks ago. He’s untouchable in that mood and will be hard to beat here.
Selections: 7-9-3-10-6
A bit still to learn in terms of the racing manners, but the ability is definitely there for Shred N Burn (2) looked really good charging through the line from an impossible spot a fortnight ago and if able to get it right and settle a little closer tonight should have this field at his mercy.
Selections: 2-7-8-5-9
Purchased into the Blanchard stable, Olympic Ko (1) has shown good ability in the short career to date and with a couple of public runs under the belt, looks primed to make a winning return here tonight. The aid of the inside draw is a big plus and if able to hold up from there looks a great bet.
Selections: 1-7-3-10-4
Hard horse to catch is Barsukov (3) but when the confidence levels are up and things fall into place he’s a pretty talented trotter. Got trapped away back in the field last time and was no chance from there but with a bit more luck tonight can have the final say.
Selections: 3-7-8-2-6
Some nice work in the last few starts from Siracha (2) and a winning turn looks pretty close at hand. Gets a nice marble to work from here tonight and should be able to punch out and be handy and from there play a big role in what’s a handy enough field.
Selections: 2-8-3-6-11
Really talented trotter returning here in Illicit Love (1) who has enjoyed a good spell after a productive early stage to the career. Lovely set up first up too with the inside draw and a chance to jump and run if the manners are there. Good enough to leave them chasing around Cambridge.
Selections: 1-5-7-6-4
Has done everything thrown in her direction so far to this point has Ride The Waves (6) and she looks every bit a filly with a big season ahead of her. Without doubt her biggest test to date but her natural ability and high speed will carry her a very long way.
Selections: 6-9-5-4-3
He’d want to step a bit better than he did here a fortnight ago, but don’t think there’s any doubt that if he does then Lincoln Wave (8) is the horse to beat here. Big win up the road last week and if he can repeat that effort here then he should really salute again.
Selections: 8-6-9-5-2
Some nice work late in the last couple of runs from Tinkerbelle (13) and another winning turn doesn’t look too far away. Bit of traffic to navigate here, but a quick beginning would help with that and if able to land in the first half of the field then looks a strong each way chance.
Selections: 13-9-2-4-1
With two runs under the belt since resuming from a spell, Bettor Be A Legend (7) should be primed to show the best here tonight. Wide draw is niggly, but has the ability to make own luck inside the final lap here and really serve it up to rivals and win.
Selections: 7-2-5-4-6
