US Open 2026: Men’s Day 10 (Wednesday) | Tips & Preview

The US Open is currently underway at Flushing Meadows, and tennis expert Evan Psarras has provided us with his best betting plays of Day 10.

Ben Shelton
vs
Carlos Alcaraz
12:10pm* Wednesday | Arthur Ashe Stadium | Quarter-final
Alcaraz -1.5 Sets ($1.52)

The market has taken a liking to Shelton following a dominant win over Tsitsipas. He successfully targeted the Tsitsipas single-handed backhand throughout the match with kick serves and looping forehands helping him get the ball out of the Tsitsipas strike zone. That is something he will not be able to replicate against Alcaraz, not will he be able to get any ascendancy from the baseline. The pair have met on three prior occasions with Alcaraz winning all three. The most concerning par for the American is what he does in Alcaraz service games as in the 8 sets they have played, he has been able to break serve a total of only two times. Alcaraz has pushed any questions about his physical condition aside and has been crushing the ball throughout the tournament. He has won his last 9 sets and the only time he dropped more than four games in a set was in the first set of his match against Faria. Will be shocked if Shelton wins more than one set.

Tips
Best Bet: Alcaraz -1.5 Sets ($1.52)
Value: Sets Alcaraz 3-0 ($2.25)

Frances Tiafoe
vs
Alex Michelsen
5:00am Wednesday | Arthur Ashe Stadium | Quarter-final
Over 40.5 games ($1.90)

The American drought may finally come to an end and they will have at least one semi finalist. Michelsen was in a slump until last month where he won a Challenger Tour event before making the final in Washington (lost to Fritz). Has come to New York like a man possessed and is yet to lose a set! His countryman has been in a rich vein of form also having made the final of the Cincinnati Masters (lost to Fils). Needed five sets to get past Damm in his opening match but it has been all systems go since with his straight sets win over former champion Daniil Medvedev a standout. Tiafoe leads the H2H 2-0 with both victories coming in straight sets. Must respect Michelsen who has a 95% success rate holding serve in the tournament. Like Tiafoe’s chances of progressing but we could be in for a lengthy match with multiple tiebreakers.

Tips
Best Bet: Over 40.5 games ($1.90)
Value: Set 1 Tiebreak – YES ($3.60)
