NRL Women Tips & Preview | Finals Week 1

Canberra meet the Wests Tigers for the second straight week and after a 22-10 win at Leichhardt they will be confident of getting their first ever finals win. The Tigers have been very consistent this year but that consistency has limited their upside. The Tigers are 0-4 against fellow sides who finished Top 5 with all losses by double digits. Canberra have beaten all other finalists playing this week and at their best are significantly better than the Tigers, particularly without Faythe Manera. Canberra are entitled to win this by plenty. Jordyn Preston has crossed in each of her last two games against the Wests Tigers and looks outstanding value to do so again. Her seven tries in 21 games across the last two seasons puts her over the odds. Mackenzie Wiki has 10 tries in 11 games this season including six in her last five games.

Brisbane have dominated Newcastle of late and can continue that in this finals encounter. The Broncos have won the last three clashes with the Knights by at least 18 points. Brisbane won 30-12 earlier in the year while they won 30-6 when the teams met in the preliminary final last year. Newcastle are 0-5 against finalists this year and have too much firepower for a Newcastle team that was totally outmatched by the Titans last week. Brisbane can be bet laying 16.5 and laddering up to -29.5. Lauren Dam has had a great tryscoring season, crossing six times this year. She has five tries in her last six games against the Knights. Tamika Upton has scored in five straight Broncos-Knights games. Kerri Johnson is an elite tryscorer with 21 tries in 23 games.
