Some very nice matchups on Day 6 highlighted by the battle between Dimitrov and Berrettini. Zverev and Fritz should make it through without any troubles while the matchup between Tiafoe and Bublik could go either way!
Dimitrov survived 31 aces from Mensik to progress in four sets and despite being past his best for some time, he has managed to make the 4th Round here in each of the last three years. Berrettini also plays his best tennis on this surface as we saw in 2021 when he made the final. The Italian has had a resurgence in recent month as was evident with his run to the quarters at the French. Their respective playing style are what make them successful on this surface – a big/accurate serve, the ability to take the ball early and on the rise, and lastly an excellent slice backhand. The last time they met was in 2019 on a fast hard court with Berrettini winning 7-6 7-6. Two tiebreakers and ZERO breaks of serve between them. This one will follow a similar pattern.
Best Bet: Over 41.5 games ($1.87)
After knocking out Frenchmen in his opening two matches (Moutet and Halys), Zverev turns his attention to an American that he has made light work of in the past. Zverev has won all four prior meetings on grass including two dominant wins on grass. The first came on this court two years ago (6-2 6-2 6-4) and the most recent was a 6-2 6-1 demolition job in Halle last year. Giron has had no answer for the Zverev serve, to the extent that he has not been able to generate a single break point opportunities in their last three clashes. That’s 7 sets without a break point opportunity, let alone an actual break of serve!
Best Bet: Under 34.5 games ($1.83)
American Taylor Fritz love affair with grass continues. Made back-to-back finals leading in and has continued his excellent form here. Has faced a total of only two break points on serve and has thundered down 33 aces in 6 sets played. Sonego is no slouch on this surface having made the 4th Round of Wimbledon on wo prior occasions including last year. Has already played 9 sets this week with 5 of them being tiebreakers. Fritz leads the H2H 7-2 but all their clashes have been hotly contested. Sonego has either won a set or forced a tiebreaker in all 9 meetings which makes the Overs a very attractive play.
Best Bet: Over 38.5 games ($1.87)
It took Bublik five sets to get past Kokkinakis in the opening round but it was a far smoother ride against Jacquet in the second round. Now he faces one of the form players on grass with Tiafoe looking to extend his 7-match win streak. He has beaten the likes of Fritz, Cobolli and Auger-Aliassime – players who have all made it through to the 3rd Round of The Championships. The previous meetings between them have also been extremely tight. The H2H reads 2-2 which includes two matches on grass. They both came in 2022 with Bublik winning in Eastbourne but Tiafoe getting revenge in a four set win in this tournament. Interestingly, of the six sets they have played on grass, 4 of them have had 12 or more games including three breakers. Expecting multiple tiebreakers and 4-5 very close sets.
