Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 26 June.
Super work to win his last two starts down in the deep south and while stepping into more dangerous territory here tonight, Tarragindi (8) can comfortably lay claim to being the best horse in this field. Stepping well and quickly and should eat up the handicap and be in contention pretty early.
Selections: 8-5-7-4-3
8. Tarragindi (8) J: Oliver Kite 1×211T: Phil Williamson
Enigmatic, but talented, Treasure Cove (1) put it all together and ran home very strongly last start in a confidence building run. Needs to build on that and gets a chance here. Not a whole lot of trust in him though, but from the draw he needs to be seriously considered.
Selections: 1-9-5-3-4
1. Treasure Cove (1) J: Tim Williams 20996T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
A nice wee slide back down in grade here tonight for Major Cyclone (6) in fact a very similar set up to when he won two starts ago. Manners are always the key, but if he’s put into the race you’d expect him to be a little too good for most of this field.
Selections: 6-1-8-5-14
6. Major Cyclone (6) J: Bob Butt x7414T: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
A sharp trial win at Ashburton two weeks ago from Plutonium Boy (4) and beat a pretty handy one in the process. Has shown plenty of upside and no surprise, in the small field, to see him look to roll forward and dominate this one from the top end.
Selections: 4-5-1-2-3
4. Plutonium Boy (4) J: Tim Williams T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
No room at all for Amistozo (4) last week and while a run might not have meant victory over the fast-finishing Midnight Diamond, she would have got close. A chance to jump onto the speed early here and look to control this and if she runs up to her previous efforts then she’s the horse to beat.
Selections: 4-9-3-5-7
4. Amistozo (4) J: John Morrison 12×17T: John Morrison
Drawing one in a stand start just didn’t work out well for Scrunch (1) last week, but back to the mobile arm tonight looks ideal. Smashed the clock with some stunning sectionals for fourth still seven days ago and should get the perfect trip here.
Selections: 1-4-8-11-2
1. Scrunch (1) J: John Dunn 2×314T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Getting better with the standing starts and a strong effort to run second last time out from Renegade (3). Much better suited here at the handicaps and just needs to catch it on the right foot to make it even harder for those behind him. Should be right there.
Selections: 3-6-5-4-1
3. Renegade (3) J: Seth Hill 00×72T: Brendon Hill
Super winning his last two and there’s plenty more in store for Tee Ball (1) too. Bit of a step up here, but if he can ping away and lead up early then there’s plenty of options and he’ll be pretty hard to hold out. Going to win plenty more races and this could be one of them.
Selections: 1-6-11-13-5
1. Tee Ball (1) J: Robbie Close 02211T: Anne-Marie & Jack Best
Back down in the south after a Northern raid, Mickey Holler (6) stepped out for a trial and looked really good doing it. Should grab a maiden win at pretty short notice and if he can get up onto the speed here tonight then he’s going to be half way there.
Selections: 6-7-1-9-8
6. Mickey Holler (6) J: Seth Hill 7×05T: Brendon Hill
Super work late in the piece here last time out from Mamas Crunch (1) and with the aid of the inside draw should get a nice trip tonight and be ready to pounce when the turn for home. Quick enough to get past them all too.
Selections: 1-7-6-9-5
1. Mamas Crunch (1) J: Tim Williams 14612T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
