Hong Kong form expert Luke Middlebrook provides his thoughts on every race at the Hong Kong meeting at Happy Valley on Wednesday, 16 July.
Dan Attack (#4) makes his stable debut for Douglas Whyte and has looked well in his trials. Barrier 2 gives him every chance to settle handy and win.
Selections: 4-1-9-2
Winning Diamond (#7) looks primed to strike third-up after being forced back from gate 11 in a slowly run race last time. With a better draw, he can settle closer and make his presence felt late.
Selections: 7-4-2-1
Mega Bonus (#1) will push forward and try to make all, as is his pattern, and if left alone in front, which looks likely, he will take some running down.
Selections: 1-6-7-2
Fortunate Son (#2) stepped out for Cody Mo over 1400m at Sha Tin last start and didn’t have the smoothest run in transit. He’ll take improvement from that outing and looks suited stepping up in distance second-up.
Selections: 2-1-5-11
Honest Witness (#7) is trending the right way and did well from an outside gate last start, closing off for third. With a better draw, he can settle closer and continue his upward trajectory.
Selections: 7-2-12-1
Chain Of Gold (#3) gets another chance with barrier 1 and Zac Purton key factors after he had excuses on his first run in Class 4 after pulling up with blood in the trachea.
Selections: 3-1-12-8
Rocket Spade (#3) comes into a much better draw in barrier 4 after jumping from gate 11 in his last three starts, where he still managed to close off well. With a softer run, his winning chances receive a boost.
Selections: 3-1-6-8
Raging Blizzard (#2) maps to get the perfect run and lost no admirers first-up when beaten less than a length by stablemate Wunderbar. He strips fitter and can go one better.
Selections: 2-3-5-11
Kyrus Dragon (#2) had excuses first-up when drawn wide, settling back before being held up in the straight. There was merit to his closing effort and from barrier 1 with more tempo expected, he gets the right set-up.
Selections: 2-1-9-5
