Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Tips & Preview | Tuesday 20 May

Trackside commentator Mark Rosanowski provides his tips for all 10 races at the Whanganui Straight Greyhounds meeting on Tuesday, 20 May.

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 1
2 Sweet Bonanza
Race time:

Sweet Bonanza (#2) won easy on debut at Cambridge & gets to run out nominations in maiden company against two of his brothers.
Selections: 2-5-3

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 2
7 Cliff Top Manny
Race time:

Cliff Top Manny (#7) followed an encouraging third down the straight with an even better second at Hatrick on Friday. 2 Texas Snakebite ran into a distant third on debut after being crowded early. First leg quaddie winner should come from this pair.
Selections: 7-2-4-6

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 3
4 Big Time Lopez
Race time:

Big Time Lopez (#4) was leading a c1/2 field over 520m on Friday before it was declared a no race. Picked up a maiden win on this track last week. Steadily improving like a few in her litter. 1 Sister Shadow stumbled at the start here seven days back. Can lead for a long way. Each way play.
Selections: 4-1-6-5

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 4
6 Big Time Talea
Race time:

Big Time Talea (#6) ran faster than the open class chasers when winning a c1 down the straight & has saluted at Hatrick since. 7 Big Time Martin downgrades after scrambling at the start & subsequently finishing a close fifth last week.
Selections: 6-7-1-4

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 5
8 Loveable Rogue
Race time:

Loveable Rogue (#8) looked to be an improver when runner-up after a month away from the track behind 1 Fool Me Once who is a leading contender again.
Selections: 8-1-6-4

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 6
5 Green Gold
Race time:

Green Gold (#5) won easy in this class here, hence she is super short in the market to repeat.
Selections: 5-2-3-6

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 7
5 Bora Bora
Race time:

Bora Bora (#5) was a distant second in the fastest race of the day here & then lost out to the same dog at Hatrick. 6 Kookaburra Bob stormed into third behind a handy hound. Doesn’t win often but this is his best surface. 2 Big Time Potter might be needed on the quaddie ticket but it’s hard to be confident with her.
Selections: 5-6-2-7

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 8
3 Churn It Up
Race time:

Churn It Up (#3) won the corresponding race a week back & meets a similar field. 2 Chip & 7 Zero Chill are the newcomers & look the biggest threats.
Selections: 3-2-7-6

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 9
6 Star Boy Express
Race time:

Star Boy Express (#6) wasn’t quite as sharp as he can be last week when coming off the back of two 457m runs at Manawatu. Staying with. 5 You Sassy Minx performed well in her first race in this grade.
Selections: 6-5-2-3

Whanganui Straight Greyhounds Race 10
7 Run Away Blue
Race time:

Run Away Blue (#7) doesn’t win as often as she should but went close last week & she beat all of these rivals except 4 Opawa Keith who can measure up on time.
Selections: 7-4-6-5
