Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday, October 2.
Building nicely through the campaign Brewster Baker (1) is going to grab a win at short notice and with the aid of the good draw tonight it might well be now. Taking ground off of some pretty nice ones in the last few starts and if close enough turning in then should get them for speed.
Selections: 1-8-3-6-7
1. Brewster Baker (1) J: Tim Williams 7×722 T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
A really nicely bred pacer, Bella Mae (8) debuts tonight and has shown a whole heap of ability in her public runs to ready for this. Looks to have a really nice turn of speed and if she can be cuddled up and get the right kind of drag into the race then expect her to be fighting out the finish.
Selections: 8-4-10-11-6
8. Bella Mae (8) J: Jonny Cox T: Sam Payne
Might have been a little on the fresh side in her first look at Addington a few weeks ago Imperious Girl (4) but what was really noticeable was how good she went after doing her chips at the start. If she behaves tonight and does everything right then they’re all running for second.
Selections: 4-1-7-13-14
4. Imperious Girl (4) J: Craig Ferguson 111xd T: Craig Ferguson
A real eye-catching effort last week by Always B Batman (3) to make up a stack of ground late in the piece. Now domiciled out at Woodend Beach with Diamond Racing and that sea air might just bring him on another notch. He’s very good when he’s right and it would be no surprise to see him win this.
Selections: 3-7-5-4-6
3. Always Be Batman (3) J: Hayden Douglas 16×23 T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Monstrous effort here in a fresh state a couple of weeks ago from Prestigious (4) and he looks set for a pretty big campaign. Nice set up here because when he does catch the start right, he’s very quick away and might head straight for the lead to take luck out of the equation. Doesn’t have to win it that way though.
Selections: 4-10-9-7-8
4. Prestigious (4) J: Kimberly Butt 21px2 T: Jonny Cox
Not a lot has gone right for Captain Tyron (9) so far this campaign but he wasn’t bad last week in a very good field. Slight drop back here and with a bit of luck, he’s got the high speed to roll home over the top of this field. Just needs that right trip into it.
Selections: 9-5-8-4-3
9. Captain Tyron (9) J: John Dunn 1×337 T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Really promising filly I’m The Boss (1) lands the perfect set up here tonight and if she can get off the gate and hold a forward position then she’s half way toward success. Should be competitive in all the major races later on so should stand up here.
Selections: 1-11-5-13-2
1. I’m The Boss (1) J: Blair Orange 21×1 T: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
After being beaten for raw speed first up by Fear Not Faith, Tour Party (4) went to Oamaru to get the confidence back and found it in a huge way. Smashed his rivals and will be right on song for this tonight. Good draw to work with and expect him to be very hard to beat.
Selections: 4-3-5-10-6
4. Tour Party (4) J: Carter Dalgety 11×21 T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Super first up run from Cath (9) to kick off her campaign against the boys. She was charging through the line. Second up here and cops a wide draw but has the speed and the respect to go forward if they want to and run them off their feet. All class and can win.
Selections: 9-8-3-7-10
9. Cath (9) J: Seth Hill 213×2 T: Brendon Hill
Backed heavily in a fresh state last time out and nearly pulled it off for punters too did Nikolai Ray (7). He’s a pretty smart three-year-old and away from his age group he gets the chance to be dominant. Natural improvement and the right man in the bike make him the horse to beat in the last.
Selections: 7-9-8-4-5
7. Nikolai Ray (7) J: Blair Orange 43362 T: Ken Barron
