Decent enough slide back in grade tonight for the talented but capable Giorgio Denario (4). He wasn’t bad behind the big guns last week and will only be getting better with racing too. Draw to use here and don’t be surprised to see him look to control this from the outset.

Big price on offer for Hikaraki (7) here fresh up which is a little surprising given the impressive nature of the trial run last week to prepare. Looked a quick winner and in a field tonight where there are a few more questions than answers in the leading lights, there’s a chance for a bit of an upset.

Great to see the very talented Dash Dosh (8) back on track at Addington after her Australian campaign. High speed mare who while facing a task from the wide draw, might get a drag into it at the right time and with a cold shot would likely be too quick for all of her rivals here.

Unseen since his very brave run in the Kurow Cup at the start of August, J T Boe (8) returns here tonight and can get straight back into his winning ways too. Needs to step, but plenty of room to work with and if able to get onto the speed at some point then will take all sorts of holding out.

A massive performance at Oamaru last weekend from Dynasty (13) in what was a quality field of trotting mares. Only bettered late by a very good one. This is easier and if she can stalk and then work into it then they’ll be hard pressed trying to stop her from winning.

A talented pacing filly from New Zealand’s hottest stable at the moment, Suva Baby (2) looks beautifully set up here. Two runs last campaign and a couple of public runs to ready. She’s got the draw, the driver and the market attention to suggest that she’s looking to lead here and deliver.

In the last few weeks Marikit (5) has emerged as a real star of the three-year-old fillies ranks with back-to-back dominant victories. Tracking beautifully toward this challenge and comes up with the right kind of draw to get onto the top end and make it her own. Dangerous if left alone.

Given the way the race was run and that he was fresh up, you couldn’t have asked for much more from Chiggsy (4) last time out. Better for it and with a better set up here, he should get to the front and control things and prove pretty hard to beat.

After emerging as one of the leading lights behind Jumal in the 3YO ranks earlier this year, Forever Miki (4) resumes here tonight looking to pick up where he left off. Is first up, so there’s some caution there but his best is very good and if he gets the chance he’ll deliver.

A nice wee step back in grade tonight for Ashley Frank (8) after mixing it with some pretty sharp three-year-olds lately. This is the kind of race he can bully his way to victory in and if he gets up outside leader then they’ll need to be good to beat him.
