Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the six races at the Gore Harness meeting on Sunday 30 August below:
Some decent form of late from Ramblin Rover (10) and most of it stacks up better than anything else in this field. Comes back a grade for today and with a sweet run through from the second row can stalk throughout and then unleash on them late.
Selections: 10-2-4-9-1
10. Ramblin Rover (2) J: Craig Ferguson 51540T: Chelsea Faithful
Two really strong performances in the last two appearances from Sensitive To A Smile (3) and escaping some good Canterbury form, there’s a big opportunity to salute here today. Wouldn’t need to go any better that’s for sure.
Selections: 3-5-1-6-2
3. Sensitive To A Smile (3) J: Sarah O’Reilly 7×723T: Mark Jones
Huge drop back in grade tonight for Rakamurph (7) compared to some of his recent assignments. Last time out was fifth behind Dreams Are Free in the Kurow Cup, the start prior finished second to Beside Me at Addington. Capable pacer and should be winning here.
Selections: 7-4-6-3-2
7. Rakamurph (7) J: Mark Hurrell x9125T: Tony Stratford
As a winner of three of her last four starts, Ridge (9) comes south looking to keep the winning roll going and should really do just that. Has won in some strong fields up in Canterbury and even off the back handicap looks well placed to storm home once again and be the one to beat.
Selections: 9-2-8-6-4
9. Ridge (9) J: Sarah O’Reilly 31161T: Brent & Tim White
Lost no admirers through the Southern Surge series with some good efforts and Rakavenom (9) escapes some decent fields for this one today. Should be able to bully her way onto the speed at some point and have a little too much extra in store for her rivals.
Selections: 9-5-3-2-7
9. Rakavenom (1) J: Mark Hurrell 10996T: Tony Stratford
Another Canterbury raider, Carrera Bravo (5) brings some good maiden form south including an excellent second at Ashburton two starts back. That would be good enough to win this and with his early speed he should be handy throughout and a great each way bet.
Selections: 5-3-7-2-1
5. Carrera Bravo (5) J: Sarah O’Reilly x9726T: Brent & Tim White
