Te Rapa Race 8: Deserves a win! Has finished inside the top four in six of seven starts racing against some good horses. The only start out of the top four was well up in grade and distance in the Sir Patrick Hogan Stakes two starts back. Came back to 1400m last start at Te Rapa and just missed when hampered twice in the straight. Tough barrier to overcome but we get Michael McNab to sort that, and I’m hoping she is too good for this field.
Ellerslie Race 1: A good second on debut behind a nice one that’s going around later in the day. Done a bit of work in the early stages from a wide barrier. Timbuctoo, who ran seventh in that race, has subsequently come out and won its next start and Protheatrics, who ran third, came out and ran a good second in the same race. $4.20 & $1.70. Marsh and Spratt the Ellerslie combo.
Ellerslie Race 2: Draws 1 and gets around Ellerslie well. Beaten by a good one last start. Start prior she beat Monday Melody and King of the North who came out and ran 1,2 in their next face off. Hoping she gets to the front, steadies the tempo, kicks off the front, and says catch me if you can. Will have to fight off the black and yellow but might be able to steal this. $5.00 and $1.90.
New Plymouth Race 6: High class filly destined for the very top. The step up to 1800m will be right up her alley, and from the 1 gate will get a soft run, and, with even luck, will pounce and demolish the opposition late. $2.30 Fixed Odds.
