Matt Markham has been through the form guide and speed maps and has provided his race analysis and betting strategy for each of the six races at the Alexandra Park Harness meeting on Friday 16 October below:
First run out of maidens tonight for Nancy Latour (6) after a big win last week. Not so concerned about the jump in grade as she’s raced better than a maiden in all three of her starts. A good beginning or a chance to work onto the speed like last week and she’ll deliver again.
Selections: 6-10-5-9-8
6. Nancy Latour (6) J: Josh Dickie 221 T: Nathan Purdon
Some monstrous efforts of late from Dolly Parton (5) in some very good fields. Racing so well and often doing it tough too. No superstars to compete with here and if she gets onto the speed then they’ll need to be very good to get the better of her the way she’s going.
Selections: 5-1-9-4-7
5. Dolly Parton (5) J: Sailesh Abernethy 15242 T: Jeremy Young
Got it wrong here a couple of weeks ago, but was excellent running second the start prior and if And Remember Me (1) can recapture that sort of form here then looks a serious player. Just needs to get it right early and if the manners are there then a big chance.
Selections: 1-5-3-8-9
1. And Remember Me (1) J: Crystal Hackett 75328 T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
Not a great deal of form to speak of so far this time in from Sugar Ray Lincoln (4) but boy does he find an opportunity tonight. Massive drop back from racing the likes of B Envious, War Chief and Nazare in the last three and good enough to make his own luck in this kind of field.
Selections: 4-2-6-8-7
4. Sugar Ray Lincoln (4) J: Tony Cameron 64660 T: Ray Green & Nathan Delany
A rare mistake in the record last time out from Illicit Love (12) but happy to allow for one. Should get redemption here as the best horse in the race, just needs a little bit of luck at the right time to bring him into the race. Then the class should show.
Selections: 12-7-9-10-4
12. Illicit Love (12) J: Crystal Hackett 21117 T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
Expecting sharp improvement from the first up run to tonight from Doo You Want Me (6). A class customer who will make his presence felt in a race over the next few months. Nice chance here to find some winning form.
Selections: 6-7-8-2-3
6. Doo You Want Me (6) J: Tony Herlihy 149×5 T: Tony Herlihy
