Having recorded consecutive victories in BM68 and BM82 company at Kembla Grange and Taree respectively, Koios was denied less than a length over 1350m at Wyong two back before only being denied by an impressive Rolling Magic here last time out. In peak order, out half a furlong and with Zac Lloyd retaining the ride, he looks a key chance of going one better this week.

Having broken his maiden at Taree on debut in January, Sobek was immediately tipped out and has picked up where he left off by winning consecutive races at Scone in dominant fashion. He’s a month between runs but has been kept up to the mark with a nice trial, and he’s earned a crack at Saturday Highway company.

Columbus improved for three starts during his debut prep, peaking with an easy win in maiden company at Hawkesbury, while he returned to action to get up in BM64 company at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago, greeting the judge nearly two lengths in the clear. With natural improvement, something like this looks the next logical step for him to take, and the booking of James McDonald certainly doesn’t hinder his chance.

Internal Affairs showed ability during his debut preparation, going to the paddock after finishing second in an Inglis Nursery, while he returned to action this time to break his maiden. Stepping up in grade here at Rosehill last time out, he was fair without threatening to finish fifth, but with further improvement and drawn to receive a lovely run from an inside alley, I’m confident he can fight out the finish of something this quality.

Having won his second run back this time – a BM72 contest over 1550m at Canterbury, Skycatcher hasn’t been disgraced in a couple of tougher races since, finding form around some credible opposition. Getting out to the 2000m at this point of his prep looks to suit, he drops a few kilograms in the weights and is another one whom we can have something on each way at a double-figure price.

Enviable turned in some fine performances last time in, finishing on the placegetters’ heels in the Group 1 Flight Stakes before ending her campaign a close second behind Salty Pearl in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic. The $1.12 bet about her in that Newcastle maiden was justified when she kicked away to win easily, and with natural improvement, she can certainly go on with it.

He’s only made five appearances at the races so far, but Tarzing has certainly stamped himself as one to follow by winning three times and placing the other two, highlighted by a sharp performance to get up over this route in June. He’s another one that has been kept up to the mark with a recent trial and under similar conditions this week, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

Run Harry Run has proven to be a great horse for the Lindsay Park operation for a few seasons now, particularly in country featured company, which was certainly the case again when he returned from a break to win the Mildura Cup over 1400m in July. He boasts a strong second up record and should relish the 1500m at Rosehill, while the booking of Nash and an ideal barrier further add to his winning claims.

Fire Star finished within a length of the winner in the Listed Hinkler Handicap at Eagle Farm on Ladbrokes Stradbroke Day before another tough performance in the Group 3 Healy Stakes when beaten just over a length by Yellow Brick. Having kept her best work for late when fourth in the Ramornie at Grafton last time out, this is a drop in class, she’s hard fit and could receive the run of the race from barrier 6.

We were with Jarrito when she returned to winning form at the midweeks and this is a perfect opportunity for her to successfully get back up into Saturday metro company. She’s won two of three runs back this time, bookending a tough performance for fourth in a race not dissimilar to this one in June, where she finished within a length of the winner. In peak, she’s down in the weights and gets conditions to suit again.
