Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 29 May.
Dropping out of three really strong races to start this campaign, Larissa Beaudiene (10) looks beautifully placed here tonight. Runs in behind Forever Miki, Cinderella Franco and Cath will all have her primed and ready to go as will a quiet trial last week. Needs a little luck from the draw, but with it should be winning.
Selections: 10-9-4-1-2
10. Larissa Beaudiene (1) J: Ricky May 6×635 T: Brendon Hill
Patiently handled so far, Amistozo (6) returns to the races here tonight and looks a good chance of kicking off in the right style. One public trial to prepare and it was superb and if she can trot onto the speed tonight and get things her way then she might hold a few too many guns for her rivals.
Selections: 6-13-14-1-2
6. Amistozo (6) J: John Morrison 12x T: John Morrison
Getting it all together now and running some really strong races, Tee Ball (5) should be primed to break through for a maiden win here. Good last week at Timaru after sitting parked when second and if able to find the markers tonight then looks one of the better bets of the night.
Selections: 5-7-8-6-2
5. Tee Ball (5) J: Robbie Close x2022 T: Anne-Marie & Jack Best
Had to work wide on a quick third quarter last week and Didn’t Di (7) was left with too much to do. Balanced up and trotted bold through the line again though. Has the speed and the ability to win this race, just needs to be close enough turning for home.
Selections: 7-2-10-13-14
7. Didn’t Di (7) J: Tayla Duley 32524 T: Matt Purvis
Second in both runs back from a spell and very good behind the talented Cherish Me at Rangiora last time out, Crunched (6) has rightly been crunched in betting throughout the week. Will go on and do a super job in the career and this should be the first step with a maiden win here tonight.
Selections: 6-5-2-7-3
6. Crunched (6) J: Blair Orange 44×22 T: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
Down from the North Island and into the Bob Butt barn, Carrera Hombre (4) showed things are right on track with a really tidy trial win last week and finds a very winnable race here tonight first up. Just needs to catch the stand start right and should be well in commission.
Selections: 4-8-2-5-7
4. Carrera Hombre (4) J: Bob Butt 43x2x T: Bob Butt
Not a lot of luck in recent times for Moonlite Blood (4) with a combination of a bad barriers and bad luck in running. Has been finding the line super though and with a good marble to use tonight, might just take luck out of the equation. Capable pacer who looks a great bet.
Selections: 4-5-6-1-8
4. Moonlite Blood (4) J: Robbie Close 41845 T: Andrew Stuart
Getting back to the mobile is a key move here for Beachbreak (8). Got it all wrong at the stand last time but was very good when fourth fresh up. Has plenty of ability and even from the wide draw here should be getting into the race at some point and giving them plenty to think about.
Selections: 8-3-2-10-6
8. Beachbreak (8) J: Tim Williams 42×40 T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
Really capable young pacer Helius (13) is living it up out on the beach these days and no surprise to see it awaken the true ability in him here. Took on some smart juvenile fields early in the career and was far from disgraced and if he has any luck from the second row draw here he’ll be well in play.
Selections: 13-10-1-12-8
13. Helius (4) J: Bob Butt 14×5 T: Bob Butt
