Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Invercargill Harness on Thursday, October 8.
Really nice preparation runs in workouts and trials from Royal Pat (3) who looks a quick winner. Has had the wood on Tactical Chevron who is favourite for this in the most recent trial and if the manners are there then should grab a win on debut.
Selections: 3-1-6-5-7

A bit like a broken record at the moment but Rakamick (1) has to be rewarded with a victory soon. Continues to race extremely well and is only ever one start away from potentially grabbing another win. Today looks a nice set up and if he can find clear air at the right time he’ll be right in the hunt.
Selections: 1-2-7-3-11
1. Rakamick (1) J: Carter Dalgety 56232 T: Clark Barron
The Gore run by Rakavenom (5) suggested a return to form is on the way and she finds herself in a race today where she can really step it up. Gets a draw advantage on her key rivals and no surprise to see her looking to roll forward and take control of this.
Selections: 5-7-3-6-8
5. Rakavenom (5) J: Carter Dalgety 96584 T: Tony Stratford
Talented three-year-old filly Delphyne (3) resumes here off a short break and she had done some wonderful things before heading to the paddock and in really good fields too. Should have the measure on this field and no surprise to see her roll to the front and control things.
Selections: 3-2-5-6-4
3. Delphyne (3) J: Nathan Williamson 30111 T: Brent McIntyre
The very talented Cruise Maguire (5) resumes here off a spell for a stable that generally has them pretty ready to rock and roll when they step out. Showed plenty of promise last campaign and looks a horse who can really go on with it in the latter stages of the season. Should be too good for this field.
Selections: 5-2-3-8-7
5. Cruise Maguire (5) J: Brad Williamson 128x T: Alister Black
Stepped out in a pretty hot field first up at Addington and Aaliyah (6) will have taken considerable benefit from that performance. A classy filly who will get better with racing under the belt but looks good enough to go forward and dominate here and then deliver.
Selections: 6-7-12-9-3
6. Aaliyah (6) J: Matthew Williamson 254×0 T: Matthew Williamson
Not the biggest assignment he’s had to face this time in but a 30m impose early is just enough to be tricky for Dreams Are Free (7). At his best and with the right kind of tempo up front he should be too quick for them, but if they bowl along up top he’s going to need to be very, very good.
Selections: 7-3-4-5-6
7. Dreams Are Free (7) J: Nathan Williamson 04154 T: Nathan Williamson
Off the back of a big win at Gore last time out, Randel Huston P (13) will be out to continue his southern sojourn with another win here. Won’t be quite as easy off the 35m back mark, but when he’s in form he tends to hold it and will likely surge into it at some point and look to put them to the sword.
Selections: 13-10-5-9-12
13. Randel Huston P (13) J: Blair Orange 55471 T: Brent & Tim White
He’s got a hot pot to take on in Side Hustle, but with the barrier draw advantage and race fitness on his side Rakmacknra (1) might be the better bet here. Capable of really bowling along if he gets into clear air and might make it tough for those behind to run him down.
Selections: 1-7-5-4-3
1. Rakmacknra (1) J: Nathan Williamson 114 T: Nathan Williamson
