Flight Stakes 2026 Tips, Predictions & Best Bets

We have Flight Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 1 1600m race at Randwick on Saturday.

Flight Stakes odds have the three runners at the top of the market favoured to win, in what should be a competitive 3YO fillies race.

Best Bet
#1 Bangkok Hottie @ $3.30

Boasting two recent wins over similar opposition, Bangkok Hottie should be tough to beat in the final leg of the Princess Series.

She has relished getting better draws, which has seen her settle close to the pace before putting them away impressively late. Despite those dominant wins, she’s not the favourite to win the Flight Stakes.

The David Payne-trained filly has enough upside to make it three wins on the bounce, and because it’s not a big field, if she is close to the pace, the back markers might find it too tough to run her down.

We priced her as the $2.50 favourite, so we’re happy to take the current odds, and she’s our top pick with Flight Stakes predictions.

Form hard to fault. Last start tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by 0.7 len in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at this track on September 19 over 1400m defeating Striking Alibi carrying 56kg at $3.90. Before that tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by 0.5 len in the G2 Furious Stakes at this track on September 5 over 1200m defeating Chilly Girl carrying 56kg at $8.50. Courageous filly hard to stop in this vein of form.

#2 Striking Alibi @ $2.60

We’re not shocked to see Striking Alibi firm into favouritism. She has been finishing her races better than most, and the James McDonald favour always sees the odds firm.

She’s not our top pick to win, but she is a good chance. Her run for second behind Bangkok Hottie last start was good, but she will need the pace on up front to show her best, and it’s always harder to come from the back.

Her chances to win would have improved with a bigger field, but we’re respecting the betting move for a filly with loads of upside. She’s a former Perth-based runner who has gone to another level with Chris Waller in Sydney.

We would have loved bigger odds, but we’re not leaving her out of our Flight Stakes tips.

#5 De Armas @ $14.00

One of the most interesting runners in the field is former Kiwi filly De Armas, who was armed with good speed as a 2YO, and it’s only a matter of time before Waller figures her out.

She hit the line well enough for fifth fresh-up, and she was always going to need that run. She is being thrown in the deep end here, which is a concern, but there was a strong betting move for her once markets went up on Wednesday.

She opened at $34 before firming quickly, so there is confidence with punters, and she could boost payouts in a small field.

Same Race Multi

Punters get value odds with our Flight Stakes SRM, which includes our three selected runners.

We have Bangkok Hottie Top 2, Striking Alibi Top 2, and De Armas Top 4, which pays $6.00 for our three-runner SRM.

It’s not a big field, so there are only Top 4 options with SRM markets. We have Bangkok Hottie and Striking Alibi running the quinella, and De Armas could make late ground to finish third or fourth.
