Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Alexandra Park Harness on Friday, October 9.
Good runs in behind Mama’s Wish and Wat Next in the last two performances from Another Collect (4) and if either of those runners was here they’d be $1.10 and shortening. Doesn’t win them out of turn but never far away from the action and looks incredibly well placed here.
Selections: 4-2-3-5-1

First up for a new campaign after just one run earlier in the season Field Of Gold (1) looks to have benefited from some time to the side judging by the recent workout victory. Was really buzzed up and ran a good last 800m. Inside draw here is golden and with a nice run should be hard to beat.
Selections: 1-2-4-3-5
1. Field Of Gold (1) J: Scott Phelan 8x T: Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan
Two runs to the races for Nancy Latour (4) for two very strong seconds in behind nice types. Won’t be held back by the maiden grade for too much longer and if able to get away well here should be on the speed and hard to stop tonight.
Selections: 4-3-11-9-12
4. Nancy Latour (4) J: Josh Dickie 22 T: Nathan Purdon
A lovely price on offer for the lightly raced but clearly very talented Cyclone Miki (2) here tonight. Was excellent advancing from the strong second on debut to winning last time out and while there’s so much more season and experienced runners here, his natural talent should take him a long way.
Selections: 2-1-9-4-3
2. Cyclone Miki (2) J: Scott Phelan 21 T: Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan
Sliding back down the grades, Manchester’s Moment (12) is going to find a race soon that’s simply too good of an opportunity not to win and it might even be this week. Has more ability than most going around in this and with a good beginning should land close to the front half of the field and be a major player.
Selections: 12-4-7-11-8
12. Manchester’s Moment (12) J: Todd Mitchell 94958 T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
Everyone’s first choice for bet of the night at The Park tonight is Nazare (2). Excellent in all three of his runs back from a spell and in fields better than this one tonight too. Nice draw to use and he might land the trail for the entire which will make him even harder to beat up the straight.
Selections: 2-7-3-1-6
2. Nazare (2) J: Andre Poutama 1×121 T: Arna Donnelly
A really strong start to the campaign from Maro Mackendon (14) and should really be a horse still on the way up since resuming from the spell. Good beginning who will eat up the 20m handicap here and with a bit of luck in running should be charging at them late and going close.
Selections: 14-11-8-10-9
14. Maro Mackendon (14) J: Crystal Hackett 11×13 T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
While he was beaten last time out, Georgie Best (5) was far from disgraced and given he’s still very much in the early stages of the campaign he should be improving too. Gets a key draw advantage over his key rivals tonight and if able to make the most of it he looks a very sharp each way chance.
Selections: 5-12-11-10-4
5. Georgie Best (5) J: Crystal Hackett 65×12 T: Nathan Purdon
Really hard to ignore the form of Shez Bella (7) in a couple of the open class trotting features here over the past month. Has found the line well in behind Higher Power on both occasions. This should technically be a lot easier and if she can get herself into a nice spot then she’s a major player tonight.
Selections: 7-9-6-8-1
7. Shez Bella (7) J: James Stormont 45524 T: Graeme Rogerson
