Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Winton Harness on Thursday 7 May
Despite having always looked a pretty capable horse not much has gone right in the career of On The Beach (1) to this point. A few mishaps and plenty of time on the sidelines, but has had a good steady build up and finds a really nice race to resume in. Should be right in the thick of it here from the draw.
Selections: 1-2-9-3-10

Two really impressive trial wins from Devil Woman (3) at Ashburton ahead of today’s debut. Has shown nice early speed and a desire to bowl along in front and keep them chasing. Will look for those tactics here and with them take all sorts of stopping.
Selections: 3-6-1-2-4
3. Devil Woman (3) J: Carter Dalgety T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Down from Canterbury and with three runs under the belt there’s been enough in the efforts of He Aint No Devil (2) to suggest he’ll win a maiden, especially in these parts. Trots out well and should get onto the speed here and won’t be far away if everything falls into place.
Selections: 2-7-3-4-1
2. He Aint No Devil (2) J: Jonny Cox 477T: Jonny Cox
This looks a great opportunity for Simply Amazing (3). Has been knocking around in some really strong fields in the last three stars and has been far from disgraced either. Huge drop back in grade and with the aid of the good barrier should be taking control of this and not looking back.
Selections: 3-1-8-9-10
3. Simply Amazing (3) J: Max Hill x1446T: Nathan Williamson
Went beast mode on his rivals on Diamonds Day and it looked like Fiery Bandito (6) could well have gone another two laps he did it that easy. Mobile conditions here are ideal and if he turns up in the right frame of mind again, they will be chasing his tail.
Selections: 6-1-2-5-3
6. Fiery Bandito (6) J: Mark Hurrell 22161T: Kirstin Green
Asked a bit of on debut and never once looked like shirking the task, Carbonate (1) should find life a little easier here. She’d been great in her trials before stepping out at the races and with the aid of the inside draw and a run on the markers throughout she looks tough to beat today.
Selections: 1-7-6-8-3
1. Carbonate (1) J: Matthew Williamson 5T: Matthew Williamson
Big efforts of late from Mor Moonlight (10) but perhaps not quite as sharp as some of the earlier form. Finds a pretty winnable race here today though and with a quick beginning can get close to the speed early and keep pressing on from there. Best horse and should show it.
Selections: 10-8-9-2-7
10. Mor Moonlight (10) J: Mark Hurrell 11334T: Kirstin Green
After a strong fresh up win, Sugar Babe (5) was well below par at the next start. Gets a chance to atone here in a nice wee slide down in grade. Should punch forward from the draw and be handy throughout and therefore one of the leading contenders in a wide open race.
Selections: 5-12-8-9-11
5. Sugar Babe (5) J: Carter Dalgety 08×10T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
A pretty nice horse going forward and one to keep an eye on over the winter, Riptide (7) will be looking for a little more luck here today but is more than capable in this grade of making his own. Wide draw means he’ll have to work but the best version of him is capable. A nice each way play in the last.
Selections: 7-1-8-11-10
7. Riptide (7) J: Nikita Burton 20x8pT: Steve & Amanda Telfer
