Unhinged had a handful of trials prior to debuting with a nice performance to only just miss down at Kembla Grange last month. Having been kept up to the mark with another trial since that race, he’s drawn well this week and can go one better.

Adenauer was sent off at long odds at Canterbury when resuming last month and worked home well behind the likes of Loera. With natural improvement, getting further out in trip and in what does look to be a weaker field, he can begin his journey through the grades.

He faces a rise in class, but after being sent off an odds-on favourite in maiden company at Newcastle when resuming, Alphard justified the quote with a victory of more than three lengths. He strips fitter, is drawn to receive a nice run in transit again this week and we can have an each way play at the price.

Oso Spirited has returned to the races in fine form this time and rates as a key winning chance again. The Team Archibald-trained mare was too good for them in maiden company at Warwick Farm when resuming and has since finished the runner up in a couple of tougher races, also in town. She’s hard fit this week, the 1800m looks to suit and if she holds her form, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.

Chispa has turned in four competitive performances since debuting, winning over 1300m at Kembla Grange at just her second start, while she hasn’t been far away in two subsequent metropolitan contests. In peak order this week, down in the weights and under James McDonald, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.

High Blue Sea hasn’t been seen at the races since December, but he turned in some typically strong performances last time in and found form around some credible opposition. He boasts a competitive fresh record and has trialled up well ahead of Wednesday’s return.

Thames didn’t manage to place in two runs back in February but was certainly far from disgraced in what were two decent metro races. Having been freshened and sent back to the trials, something like this looks a nice launchpad for her.

Hurstville Zagreb has been a great horse for Tom Charlton and co. in recent preps, winning four of 12 starts, placing as many times and finding form around some genuine metro company. Having trialled up well, his fresh form is good, and he is a touch of overs in my opinion at a double-figure price.
