Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Cambridge Harness on Thursday 14 May.
A little bad luck has fallen the way of Rivergirl Bella (4) of late but there’s been merit in the performances. Finds a pretty winnable race here tonight and with a clear pathway should be able to find a prominent position and be right in the fight for a very long way.
Selections: 4-6-8-3-5
4. Rivergirl Bella (4) J: Peter Ferguson 35307T: Ray Green & Nathan Delany
Getting back to Cambridge after a flop at Alex Park last week can be a big factor for Chesinov (2) all the prior form here had been good and wouldn’t need to go much better to be a major player in this line up. Manners will be key but a good chance with them.
Selections: 2-6-11-1-4
2. Chesinov (2) J: Luk Chin 56130T: Luk Chin
Last chance saloon for He’s Not That Into U (9) tonight after a failed Manawatu mission. Has the ability to overcome the unruly draw here and make his own luck, but needs to be in the right headspace too. Best version wins, but anyone’s guess if he’s in that mood.
Selections: 9-3-1-6-7
9. Hes Not That Into U (1) J: Tony Cameron 27×30T: Tony Herlihy
More bad than good of late from Miki Mirage (5) and should get a great chance to find an easy way onto the speed tonight with key rivals drawn out wide. On the markers, would be very dangerous but looks a strong each way play irrelevant of how it pans out.
Selections: 5-8-9-1-7
5. Miki Mirage (5) J: Crystal Hackett 30934T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
Trekked down to the Manawatu and grabbed a confidence building win and Critical Image (1) can rise again off that. Lands the perfect draw here tonight and should be on the speed early and throughout and the one to roll.
Selections: 1-9-7-5-2
1. Critical Image (1) J: Zachary Butcher 67721T: Arna Donnelly
She’s a little in and out at times, but when on the job Very Majestic (8) is more than capable of winning this. Getting back to Cambridge looks a real positive and with a quick beginning can settle a lot closer to the speed than some of the others off back marks.
Selections: 8-9-10-3-4
8. Very Majestic (8) J: Peter Ferguson 24528T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
Has furnished into a really capable staying type over the past few months and I Can Too (8) looks well over the odds for tonight’s assignment. Running good races down at Manawatu in better fields than this and if able to get up onto the speed then looks a major player.
Selections: 8-11-15-6-9
8. I Can Too (8) J: Zachary Butcher 21317T: Stephen Doody
A huge drop back in grade here for Lincoln Maree (5) who has been chasing around in some good fields lately behind the likes of Dominus, Bettor Belle and Iron Mike Tyson. Couple of handy efforts in there too and anything close to them would win this 9.9 times out of ten.
Selections: 5-8-6-1-4
5. Lincoln Maree (5) J: John Kriechbaumer 33748T: Ray Green & Nathan Delany
