Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 10 April.
He doesn’t win them out of turn these days but tonight provides a great opportunity for The Coalman (6) to get back into the winners’ circle. Has been really strong over the past six weeks and lands in a reall suitable race tonight. If he can jump and find the markers, he’s well in play.
Selections: 6-8-9-2-10
6. The Coalman (6) J: Samantha Ottley 22326T: Mark Jones
Looked every bit a good horse in the making with a very good win here on debut a couple of weeks ago and there’s nothing to suggest that anything will change tonight for Royal Monarch (6). Has the speed to settle back and launch into it and run away from them once again.
Selections: 6-3-4-5-1
6. Royal Monarch (6) J: Bob Butt 1T: Matt Purvis
Forced to sit parked and do it the hard way the other night, Diamonds Are Forever (8) was left wanting late in the piece. A different approach tonight however could change that. She’s got impressive high speed when saved for one run and look for her to be charging home.
Selections: 8-10-6-4-5
8. Diamonds Are Forever (8) J: Bob Butt 00134T: Bob Butt
Back to his old tricks once again last week after a nice trip in the trail but the trial win of Wilma’s Boy (8) earlier in that week still burns in the memory. Could roll to the front here and just keep running them into the ground and if he does then we’ll see the real version.
Selections: 8-10-11-9-6
8. Wilma’s Boy (8) J: Paul Nairn 06087T: Paul Nairn
Really sharp work late in the piece in a fresh state here a fortnight ago from Cinderella Franco (11) and this assignment might actually be easier than that one. Has high speed and the second row draw actually isn’t that bad as she can settle and then launch when the time is right. Can win.
Selections: 11-12-1-13-7
11. Cinderella Franco (2) J: Craig Thornley 113T: Steven McRae
Looked in need of the run last time out here when running second did Eurostyle (8) and she worked hard to find the lead early. Might stay back a little longer this time and just look to run a really solid last mile which will suit her right down the ground.
Selections: 8-6-5-7-4
8. Eurostyle (8) J: Kimberly Butt 82122T: Derek & Adele Jones
Tough ask for a three-year-old to take on the might of Got The Chocolates but if there’s a horse who can beat him right now perhaps it is the real rising star. High speed is his greatest asset and if he can find the front and control things before ramping it up late then he might be a little too quick.
Selections: 3-5-2-1-4
3. Jumal (3) J: Samantha Ottley 3×111T: Steven Reid
A really nice trotter in the making returning from the Matty Williamson barn, Hail Mary (4) has plenty of ability and as long as she brings the manners with her, she’s fallen into a race that looks really winnable tonight in a fresh state.
Selections: 4-5-11-2-9
4. Hail Mary (4) J: Matthew Williamson 10xT: Matthew Williamson
A huge win in a fresh state here last time from Ashley Frank (6) who went to war a long way from home and won the survival of the fittest. Back to the 1980m distance tonight but can still be the toughest of them all if required and make it back-to-back wins.
Selections: 6-5-7-4-9
6. Ashley Frank (6) J: Jonny Cox 5×1T: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
