Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Palmerston North Harness on Tuesday 10 March.
Dropping out of some decent fields of late, So Mystifying (9) finds the right kind of race here today to be a major player. The third behind Crazy at Cambridge last week should be good enough alone to win this race a few times over and just needs to trot away to be the horse to beat.
Selections: 9-6-5-10-3
9. So Mystifying (0) J: Emily Johnson 18843T: Sean McCaffrey
After stepping out in a good field at Addington fresh up where well supported, Matariki (2) should be able to find a winning opportunity here today. Good draw to work from with an inform driver in the bike and if able to find the front then even tougher to run down.
Selections: 2-4-8-7-1
2. Matariki (2) J: Andre Poutama 464×7T: Kenny Tarrant
Haven’t seen Courage Reactor (2) at Palmerston North for a wee while now but she jumps out of some pretty strong races of late and she’s been very consistent in them too. Should find a good spot from the draw and if she runs anywhere near to her efforts recently then she’ll be hard to stop.
Selections: 2-5-6-1-3
2. Courage Reactor (2) J: Wilson House 37235T: Michael House
Well backed in two runs to the races, Midfrew Lando (3) looks to have a fair share of ability and the breakthrough win at Cambridge last time out was very good. Nice draw to work from here so should push forward and with own terms might be a little too good for them here.
Selections: 3-4-11-5-8
3. Midfrew Lando (3) J: Kate Coppins 81T: Arna Donnelly
Given he raced and beat Oscar Bonavena on Friday night at Auckland, a 35m handicap for Romeo Foxtrot (7) here looks a bit of a handicapping special. Has a strong diet of racing behind him and if he gets close to the speed inside the last lap he’ll look to put them to the sword.
Selections: 7-5-6-8-4
7. Romeo Foxtrot (1) J: Harrison Orange 34351T: Susan Branch
Sneaks down to the Manawatu for a go after some good efforts in handy fields of late and the best version of Skys Legacy (4) would be hard to stop here. Needs the right kind of run but from the handy draw should find it and be charging at them late.
Selections: 4-2-3-1-5
4. Skys Legacy (4) J: Kate Coppins 36516T: Arna Donnelly
As a winner of 22 races, Rough And Ready (5) needs little said about him. Quality horse who is very well placed here off the handicaps and with his strong finish, expect him to be charging home from back in the field inside the final lap and proving hard to hold out.
Selections: 5-4-3-1-2
5. Rough And Ready (0) J: Kate Coppins 61224T: Arna Donnelly
