A string of minor placings in the last three runs would suggest that Genuine Imitation (2) is ready to strike and get another victory on the board. Finds a good barrier draw to work from in a wide open field and really looks a prime contender for success.

Another consistent performer in this part of the world, Run Blaze Run (3) hasn’t run a bad race in a very long time and while still chasing win No.1 gets a great opportunity here today. Should punch forward, take control and be the one to beat.

Nice swing in draws for Indisposed (1) and will be out to make the most of it. Going near enough too and meets a pretty even field here, so with the aid of the markers should be able to hold up early and be in all the right places to be a strong each way player.

Classy pacer Midnight Miki (8) makes a surprise trip down to Manawatu. Spent most of his last campaign chasing some of the best in the land and doing a good job of it. Just needs a bit of luck from the inside of the second row but with it should be simply too good for this field.

Handy runs of late from Mass Disruption (4) and slides into this race here quite nicely. Should land handy to the speed and with the right kind of run has the ability to be able to get the job done at a nice price.
