Talented pacer Mako (7) after a strong run first up from a spell for second. He’s got oodles of ability on his day and while he might be still on the up, this does look a very winnable race for him tonight. Just needs things to pan out in the running to bring him right into play.

Big run to win again last time out from Higher Power (9) and he’s really found his mojo of late. A task in front of him again tonight but the manner in which he’s racing and the way in which he’s winning says that anything close to what we’ve seen of late he’ll be winning again.

There’s a lot of ability there but bad luck seems to have plagued Sammy Lincoln (9) so far in the career. Has a pretty high ceiling and will win plenty of races, just needs a bit of luck from a tricky draw here tonight to become the horse they all need to beat.

A brilliant debut winner late last year Our Col (2) steps out here for a new campaign off the back of a public run last week that left a few tongues hanging out. Really promising trotter with it all ahead and as long as the manners are there tonight, should be winning again.

In terms of high speed, there’s not many in this tonight that would go with Chanel Noire (6) but she’s going to need the right kind of run to really be able to show it. Nothing wrong with any of the three runs back from a spell and if she does get the little bit of luck then she’ll be a major player.

Some really nice trial form around Centaurus (4) ahead of tonight’s debut and more than a few good judges are tipping the three-year-old to be the horse to beat. Looks sensible enough and if able to get away with them well and find the right trip then should be fighting out the finish with the plethora of stablemates.
