Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Alexandra Park Harness on Friday, 20 March.
The mark of a good horse was on show last time Doo You Want Me (8) turned up to the races, in fact it’s probably been there in all three starts since returning. But the last win was a little more special than most as there are so many reasons he shouldn’t have been able to win. But he did, and that’s an effort only reserved for the better ones. Expect the same here.

He lost his mojo for a while there Higher Power (8) but he appears to well and truly have gained it back. That last start win in the Metro Final was as easy a win as you’ll see at Alexandra Park by a trotter. He just brained them. Unseen since, but the class alone takes him almost all of the way back to the winners’ circle again tonight.

Trapped wide early and forced to do a bit of work to find her way onto the speed, All Of Me (6) was always going to be a sitting duck last week. Third up tonight though and she should be nearing her peak and if she was to find the markers a little easier here, then she’d probably be a little too quick for them.
Selections: 6-8-5-12-9
6. All Of Me (6) J: Carter Dalgety 11×22 T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
A perfect set up here for Princess Gracy (3) off the back of two really strong thirds in good company recently. She should be able to find her way onto the speed and if she does make it to the top then the sectionals she’s going to run from there on will make it impossible for her key rivals to gain ground on her. Looks a sharp way to play.

All heart last week from Time For Change (3) after withstanding some early pressure. She fought bravely to the line and is only going to be better again for that run. Key draw advantage on her main rivals has her on the markers again and the one to chase down. Own terms, and she’ll be dangerous.
Selections: 3-7-9-6-10

Wiped out at the start last week when heavily supported, Hillbilly Blues (4) run thereafter was excellent both to the eye and on the clock. A little more fortune early here and he should be in a nice spot from which to launch an attack and his exciting class will have him the one they all need to beat.
Selections: 4-1-2-8-6
4. Hillbilly Blues (4) J: Tony Herlihy 11117 T: Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett
A super impressive first up win from an impossible position on the home turn by Daisy Bay (1). They’ve kept her on ice ever since then and she returns here tonight and lands the ace draw which should just work out perfect for her. High speed to use and it looks like she’ll get a chance to show it.
Selections: 1-8-7-2-4
1. Daisy Bay (1) J: Jacob Dunn 1 T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
One swallow doesn’t make a summer and equally one below par performance doesn’t make Republican Party (6) not the best horse in the country. Race tempo, his first run up for a while and a monstrous task at the 400m all came together to make it impossible to win seven days ago. Longer trip here, slightly better draw and some fitness on side and he can get right back to winning form tonight.
Selections: 6-3-2-5-1
6. Republican Party (6) J: Carter Dalgety 11237 T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Big brother will be out strutting his stuff in Race 8, but there will be plenty of eyes on Tour Party (5) when he steps out in the following race too. Two wins from two starts and an absolute demolition job here earlier in the month. He’s an excitement machine and looks poised to go three-from-three.
Selections: 5-8-3-6-4
5. Tour Party (5) J: Carter Dalgety 11 T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
As far as introductions to Alexandra Park go, Jumal’s (3) win last week is about as good as they come. Just made his rivals look average at the top of the straight when he dashed away and it was all too easy in the final stages. Better for it though which is the scary thing. Nice draw too so set to win again.
Selections: 3-2-10-9-7
3. Jumal (3) J: Samantha Ottley 13×11 T: Steven Reid
A lot to like about the recent runs of Barsukov (5) and from a good draw here tonight might just be the one to trot onto the speed and not look back. Certainly wouldn’t need to go any better than the recent runs and in front, it’d be interesting to see if they could by late in the piece.
Selections: 5-13-14-2-8
5. Barsukov (5) J: Kate Coppins 54453 T: Luk Chin
