Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 27 March.
The talented Tetrick (8) resumes here tonight after a short spell after setting tongues wagging with a big win here when last produced. Heads to the mobile tonight, which we haven’t seen him behind here in NZ, but it should be more a help than hindrance. Bigger things ahead for him and he can win this.
Selections: 8-6-2-4-7
8. Tetrick (0) J: Carter Dalgety 081d1T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Really nice debut effort for Marble Arch (4) a fortnight ago and should have taken considerable benefit from that experience too. Back onto the all weather here and with a good draw tonight looks set to roll forward and take control of things. Hard to beat with own terms.
Selections: 4-6-7-2-1
4. Marble Arch (4) J: Carter Dalgety 3T: Cran & Chrissie Dalgety
Hard to know what to expect here from the young trotters with no race day form, only trials and workouts. Donovan (1) looked pretty smart winning a trial recently and hails from a reputable stable with a good draw to work from. Manners the key but he looks the most likely.
Selections: 1-6-3-4-2
1. Donovan (1) J: Tim Williams T: Kevin Townley
Looks a lovely night for Rena (6) to make her way back into the winners’ circle. Two great runs since resuming from a spell and was charging through the line in a very good field here last time out to finish fourth. High speed mare who just needs that little bit of luck at the right time.
Selections: 6-4-9-5-1
6. Rena (6) J: Ben Hope 98×24T: Greg & Ben Hope
Strong work of late from Freya (7) and most of it in much stronger fields than that which is faced tonight. Loves the mobile conditions and with her high speed can pick and choose when to get into this battle. No surprise to see her looping into it around the last bend and running away with victory.
Selections: 7-8-6-4-5
7. Freya (7) J: Ben Hope 21342T: Greg & Ben Hope
Found the front last time out and never looked back and there’s no reason why John Stewart (4) can’t do the same again here tonight. Still not 100 per cent locked in to racing and wants to look about it but when he knuckles down he’s a pretty serious horse.
Selections: 4-8-7-2-9
4. John Stewart (4) J: Robbie Close 12431T: Joseph Gray
The best trotting mare in the land returns tonight after a short let up and Eurostyle (5) looks well poised to return in winning style. Last seen running second to Muscle Mountain in a Gr.1, the small field here plays nicely into her hands and she should be able to out-stay them late.
Selections: 5-3-2-4-1
5. Eurostyle (3) J: Kimberly Butt 08212T: Derek & Adele Jones
Nice type back from a spell here in Song Of Seas (3). Only seen once at the races and that was in a decent field at Ashburton last August. Plenty of trials and workouts to prepare and while there’s been nothing flashy about them they’ve been nice and suggest a strong return is on the cards.
Selections: 3-2-4-5-6
3. Song Of Seas (3) J: John Dunn 8xT: Tom Bagrie
A lightly raced pacer, Mystery Creek (2) returns for the Hayden and Amanda Cullen stable tonight with a couple of trial runs under the belt to get ready. The second of them was very good and points towards a forward showing here tonight from the good barrier draw.
Selections: 2-4-9-3-10
2. Mystery Creek (2) J: Blair Orange 184xT: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
No luck at all at Methven last weekend for Better Be Quick (4). Plenty left in store but never got a chance to show it. Likely to roll forward here and take bad luck out of the equation and with the right trip is more than up to winning against this field.
Selections: 4-7-5-1-9
4. Better Be Quick (4) J: John Dunn 36407T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
