Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Addington Harness on Friday 13 March.
A brilliant first-up win here from Arma Hunter (9) a couple of weeks ago and it was done in a very smart time as well. Clearly a horse with a future. Work to do from out wide but if able to get across them would prove hard to hold out on the last win.
Selections: 9-2-4-3-6
9. Arma Hunter (9) J: John Dunn 91×1T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
A well bred trotting debutant from the Diamond Racing barn, I’m Connected (6) has looked very sharp in the public runs and won’t take long at all to exit the maiden grade. Good field here tonight, so can’t afford to miss a beat, but with manners should be right there.
Selections: 6-5-4-2-3
6. I’m Connected (6) J: John Dunn T: Robert & Jenna Dunn
A nice first up run for second from Fanfare (5) here last month – a run he will only be better for. Looks to have a nice enough future in front of him and the small field here looks ideal. Would expect him to be right there at the finish.
Selections: 5-1-3-4-2
5. Fanfare (5) J: John Dunn 2T: Bob Butt
An impressive win at Reefton on Sunday from Spirit Downunder (6) and while there are worlds between The Town of Light and Addington, the class should transfer across easy enough. Has high speed which is a bonus anywhere and will be running on better than most in this.
Selections: 6-9-2-10-7
6. Spirit Downunder (1) J: Olivia Thornley 1×151T: Regan Todd
Facing the wrong way when the tapes went last time out, Zoltan Boscik (6) turned in a big recovery to go over the line with nowhere to run and charging through the bridle. Usually very quick away from the stand and if he can get close enough he should have too much speed for this field.
Selections: 6-5-10-8-7
6. Zoltan Boscik (1) J: Luke Whittaker 299×8T: Jeff & Luke Whittaker
Nice to see We Walk By Faith (5) back on track again and he finds a good race to kick off in. Tidy trial effort and if he punches forward and takes control then he’ll be hard for anything in this field to run down over the final 800m.
Selections: 5-7-3-9-8
5. We Walk By Faith (5) J: Blair Orange 68533T: Hayden & Amanda Cullen
Nothing but good efforts of late from John Stewart (2) and getting back behind the mobile and back to Addington this week looks ideal for him. Finds a good draw so should find the markers early and if he can control things, then he’ll take some holding out late.
Selections: 2-9-11-3-1
2. John Stewart (2) J: Robbie Close 11243T: Joseph Gray
Going good without really showing his best B D Hall (11) but tonight’s assignment looks a great chance to get back into winning form again. Not as strong as some of the recent assignments and if he gets rolling at the right time he can run them off their feet.
Selections: 11-9-8-5-4
11. B D Hall (3) J: Anthony Butt 62143T: Steve & Amanda Telfer
There’s a decent motor there for debutant Franco Sublime (3) it would seem and with money coming automatically on markets opening, there’s another sign a big run is expected. Pretty tidy maiden field this one though so will need to be good to win it.
Selections: 3-9-5-8-12
3. Franco Sublime (3) J: Craig Thornley T: Steven McRae
Plenty to like about Sunsoutgunsout (1) in his two wins this time in. He looks a really nice three-year-old moving forward. Ace draw will be interesting tonight as a few might chance their arm to get past him early but no bad luck and he should be winning again.
Selections: 1-5-12-6-9
1. Sunsoutgunsout (1) J: Blair Orange 2×11T: Steven Reid
