Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Palmerston North Harness on Tuesday 10 February.
The well travelled Doctor Tim (1) makes a return to the Manawatu today and while he’s not in the best form of his life, he can certainly get back in the right direction here. Has been in some decent fields back down in Canterbury and from the ace will find this a whole lot easier.
Selections: 1-8-5-2-4
1. Doctor Tim (1) J: Wilson House 56970T: Michael House
After taking on some strong fields back home in Canterbury, Rakero Lightning (2) finds the right kind of race here to make the Manawatu debut. Far from past the line but with a good draw to use should be on the speed and right in the fight throughout.
Selections: 2-7-9-4-6
2. Rakero Lightning (2) J: Wilson House 07680T: Michael House
The first few hundred metres hold all the keys for Eagle Hanover (8) today. Get through them well off the back mark and he should be right in contention from there. Has run some strong races of late in better company and looks tailormade for this if the manners are there early.
Selections: 8-7-1-2-4
8. Eagle Hanover (2) J: Kate Coppins 95602T: Jay Abernethy
Nice wee slide back in grade for Shezabettorgirl (3) today after stepping out against very good fields in the last two runs at Alexandra Park. Doesn’t mind it here and from the good draw should lob a decent spot from which to launch an attack.
Selections: 3-6-7-2-4
3. Shezabettorgirl (3) J: Kate Coppins 31156T: Michael House
Wilson House’s decision to drive Sweet Willow (8) looks a strong indication to the better of the stable’s two chances. Getting better with racing and the last start fifth was actually better than it looks. Bit to do off the unruly but one to look for late.
Selections: 8-6-1-3-4
8. Sweet Willow (0) J: Wilson House 15p05T: Michael House
A three-time winner on the track, it would be no surprise to see Jaccka Baylis (3) find winning form again here. Seems to save his best work for this track and while overall he’s been a little disappointing of late and sharp turnaround today is expected.
Selections: 3-7-6-5-2
3. Jaccka Baylis (3) J: Wilson House 28550T: Michael House
Backed heavily on a couple of occasions in the past month, Rhaegal (2) might be able to get something back for the punters today by returning to the all weather surfaces. Perhaps not quite at home on the grass look for something a bit sharper here.
Selections: 2-7-1-4-3
2. Rhaegal (2) J: Harrison Orange 26255T: John Gommans
