After a really strong debut effort for third here, Colonel (6) was just OK second up in what was probably a stronger field. Looks pretty well placed here though and if able to replicate the debut run would be going close in this line up.

He’s no superstar, Brother Johnson (1) but he does slide in here pretty well. After chasing off handicaps in his first few runs back he gets into a better position here and if able to trot away well should be close to the speed throughout and good enough to play a role.

Well supported on debut up at Auckland, Midrew Lando (2) had brought forward some sharp enough trial form to suggest a win would be quick in coming. Can turn things right around here from that first run with a good draw to use. Looks a strong winning chance.

The money came last week and it proved right on the mark too with Soul Artist (2) who delivered an impressive victory. Looks a nice type going forward and while taking on some good types here, it isn’t an impossible task and should be going close again.

Hard to find a fault in any of the recent work from Sea Of Love (1) and from the ace draw tonight looks to hold plenty of cards in this battle. Going well and wouldn’t need to go any better to win this. A nice trip on the markers and hard to beat.

A lot to like about the recent efforts of Commander Lincoln (6) and that should stand up pretty well here. Has been in much stronger fields in the last two and hit the line with some real venom in the step. Nice chance tonight.
