Matt Markham gives his best in all races at Tauherenikau Harness on Friday, January 2.
Bit of work to do from the 50m handicap but this is a whole lot easier for Koko Kaboom (5) than some of his more recent assignments. Should be able to eat up the margin pretty quickly and if he’s ranging into inside the final half of the race he’ll be hard to hold out.
Selections: 5-7-6-3-4
| 5. Koko Kaboom (1) J: Kate Coppins 13798T: Michael House |
After doing a decent enough job down in Canterbury for the first half dozen starts of his career, Eastwood Admiral (6) sneaks up the country today. Always well supported and has done enough to suggest a maiden win in a field like this isn’t out of the realms of possibility.
Selections: 6-2-9-4-8
| 6. Eastwood Admiral (6) J: Emily Johnson 77588T: James McDonald |
The form isn’t super encouraging but Million Dollar Chic (2) has been knocking around in some decent fields of late and slides right down in grade here to something that looks pretty suitable. Would expect her to punch out from the draw and be hard to beat.
Selections: 2-4-7-3-6
| 2. Million Dollar Chic (2) J: Kate Coppins 53407T: Michael House |
Fourth in a very strong field at Motukarara on Monday looks pretty good form for a race like this for Shannon B (7). She’s got quite a turn of foot on the grass tracks too and if she can stalk and then unleash, she’ll take some holding out.
Selections: 7-1-4-5-8
| 7. Shannon B (7) Scratched: | |||
