Sure to be better for her first up run last week, Ultimate Racy Girl (7) can improve a few places here too. Wide draw a little bit of a concern but she’s good enough to make her own luck from out there and if in contention turning for home, should fight out the finish.

All class winning here last week, albeit narrowly, Youneverknow (8) should continue his march toward bigger and better things here. Front row draw is an assist over main rival Ya Rite Darl and if he settles close to the speed he’ll take a power of beating.

Bullied his way to the front last week and never looked back but it might not be quite the same here tonight for Captain Sampson (12). That said, he’s the class act of the field and will likely swoop into it at some point and from there should be able to handle things.

Probably little to no doubt that Save A Prayer (6) is the best horse in this race in terms of ability but the big question is still manners. Has the motor, but the legs don’t quite match up yet. Small field will really help and at best should be winning.

Back home from Canterbury after a NZ Cup bid, Sooner The Bettor (7) should find his happy place again under the lights of Alex Park. Loves it here and loves this kind of race. Drawn inside main rivals so will roll forward and be hard to catch.

Won last week with the arrogance of an open class horse and this week Hillbilly Blues (3) drops back in grade. Good draw to work from and looks set to trot onto the speed early and control things as he likes. Anything close to last week and he wins again.

A strong return to form of late for Dave Duley (7), he’s been excellent in his last couple of runs. Finds a really winnable race tonight and although drawn wide, doesn’t mind doing it tough and he’s a big chance to sit up outside the leaders and monster them here.

Left three wide a long way from home last week, the run told for Loteria (11). That was a quality field of trotting fillies and mares though and this looks a bit easier. Beats most for sheer speed but needs to get into the right spot to make it happen.

One of the biggest tragedies beaten you’ll see for a while last week Cyclone Rebel (5) but gets a chance to atone for that here today. Small field and his high speed and class should take him all the way to the winners’ circle no matter where he lands.

In a really good groove at the moment and loving the mobile racing, Crazy (7) brings plenty of confidence into tonight’s assignment. Can do it in a multitude of ways too, but has really been strong sitting off the speed and looping into it late. Looks a strong bet to end the night.
