4 Flyaway: A noted grass track performer, Flyaway (4) slides into this pretty well today. She generally is best when saved for the one run at them, so finding that right spot is paramount early. With a good trip though, she’s more than capable of heading home a field like this.

6 Bizza To’o: A first starter from the Sarah O’Reilly barn, Bizza To’o (6) brings some very strong workout and trial form forward to today’s debut. Has seemed sensible and has performed on the grass at Methven so ticks a few boxes and looks one of the hardest to beat.

6 Brookies Princess: A really strong and impressive Methven trial a couple of weeks ago sets Brookies Princess (6) in a good place heading into this. Into a new barn and showed a real turn of foot to win that trial. Meets a very even field with no real standouts and can play a major role.

4 Captain Publisher: Into a new barn off the back of some handy grass track efforts in the spring, Captain Publisher (4) looks well placed here. Ran strong placings behind Rockcent and Ideal Conqueror at Methven and here and Sam Thornley takes over the training. Can jump onto the speed and be hard to catch.

4 Dark Ghana: There’s been a little more of the old Dark Ghana (4) in his two most recent hitouts ahead of today’s resumption. Has look nice and fluent in his gait and showed good speed in the closing stages. Look for a sharp beginning here today to land him on the speed and he’ll be well in play from there on.

4 Zarlini: First up from a spell for quite a while, Zarlini’s (4) Cup Week effort was very good. She’ll only be better for that too and from a good draw here should be able to land in a good position from which to launch an attack on this race late.

4 Hoof It Hagrid: Cup Day didn’t quite go to plan but Hoof It Hagrid (4) can bounce back in style here today. Finds a very winnable race and wouldn’t have to go any better than his two wins prior to the last start to be wearing his rivals down today up the long Mot straight.

2 Impressive Shard: A string of minor placings in the last few starts have Impressive Shard (2) ready to dip back into the winners’ circle. Comes up with a great draw to work from and should be on the speed throughout. From there, looks the one to beat.

17 Rapid Response: A little bit of a different set up here from the Timaru win for Rapid Response (17) but back on the grass is a big assist. Might be able to punch through early and land a lot closer to the speed than most would think and with a bit of luck can play a major role in this.

4 Nazareth: Wiped out at the start on Show Day, Nazareth (4) fans get a shot at redemption here. Sliding back down the grades and finds a really suitable assignment today. If he can trot away and find a good spot then he’s got the class to take this out.

11 Chance On Me: Underrated mare Chance On Me (11) sneaks in here under the radar a little bit. Better for the first up run for sixth on a track that probably didn’t suit. Can track through here from the second row and if she finds the right run then can definitely play a role in the finish.
