MARSEPT (6) looks ready to make her mark second-up for Team Hawkes.
The Written Tycoon filly lines up for her third career start, having impressed with a Stakes placing on debut at Flemington behind the classy Shining Smile. She resumed at Canterbury a fortnight ago, finishing fourth after covering ground from a wide draw.
Back on a firmer surface this time, she’s expected to relish the conditions after tackling a heavy track over 1200m first-up. With Tyler Schiller retaining the ride and a more economical run in transit, she’s every chance to feature prominently in the finish.

NAPOLEONIC (6) was nothing short of dominant first-up over this trip at Wyong, bursting clear to score by an impressive 4.8 lengths and break his maiden in style.
James McDonald positioned him perfectly, settling just off the pace before unleashing wide into the straight. The colt responded with a powerful surge, cruising home under hands and heels for a soft win.
The Wootton Bassett youngster steps out on another firm surface here and looks well placed to go back-to-back. He’ll need to absorb an extra 2kg this time, but if he handles that, he’s right in the mix again.

LEADERS LISTEN (1) chased a third straight win at Rosehill two Saturdays back but was well held, finishing nine lengths adrift.
He drops back to midweek company here and, despite carrying top weight, should find this assignment more manageable—especially with a return to firmer footing.
Now deep into his preparation and reverting to a shorter trip, he’s race-fit and well placed to bounce back on familiar ground.

WINSTON HILLS (9) shapes as a genuine contender third-up, provided he gets a touch of luck from the draw.
Matthew Smith’s progressive gelding has tackled tougher Saturday company this prep, most recently finishing runner-up at Randwick after taking time to hit his stride but powering through late.
Both outings came over 1200m, which sets him up well from a fitness standpoint. Dropping back to midweek grade and nicely weighted, he looks well placed to make his presence felt.

KAKADU SUNSET (13) presents as a solid each-way prospect in what shapes as a wide-open sprint.
She made a winning debut at Canterbury, launching from midfield and sweeping down the outside to score narrowly but impressively. Since then, she’s tuned up with two encouraging trials at Rosehill and Wyong.
Tim Clark takes the reins from barrier 6, giving her every opportunity to settle and strike. With natural improvement and a dry track in her favour, she’s well worth keeping safe.

UNITED KINGDOM (12) is a genuine contender third-up in what looks a wide-open affair.
Chris Waller’s gelding wasn’t far away last start at Canterbury, beaten just over two lengths after finishing strongly from the back over a slightly shorter trip.
He’s shown a liking for this stage of his preparation, having placed twice previously third-up, and looks far more comfortable on a firmer surface. With conditions to suit, he’s well worth keeping in the mix.
