4 Chief Logger is a brother to Fergie’s Girl (five wins in a row) that won a qualifying trial in a handy 17.92s a fortnight ago. 5 Maple Leaf has been showing good early speed over 457m at Manawatu so the drop back to 305m should suit.

7 Thrilling Gordon is a wide, back-runner suited today & can threaten this small field at big odds. The favourite is smart but vulnerable. Cheeky field ticket in the quadrella if you can keep it short later.

4 Talkin’ Trash trialled well enough at Manawatu to rate him a decent winning chance resuming on the downgrade.

2 Big Time Axel downgrades & wasn’t far from third in c5 company last time. Much better draw too.

Despite a fine record at Manawatu 4 Big Time Lime looks a better winning prospect on this track these days. Should appreciate her return to this track. Will have to put a decent margin on 3 We Ride though.

8 Big Time Zip got a bit awkward at the first bend after beginning well at Manawatu midweek. This draw should suit on the outside of this field. Runs 520m out strongly.

7 Big Time Brave returns to her favourite track after a fair fourth over 375m on Tuesday. Wasn’t able to cross the field here two starts back but should have plenty of room to accelerate into the first bend tonight.

5 Fire Warning is having her first sprint start on this track but is now taking everything in her stride including beating some c2 dogs easily at Manawatu three days ago. 4 Big Time Paris is a good exacta option back on this track.

5 Fergie’s Girl is seeking six straight. Unbeaten in three starts here & has put some good times on the board. Rise in class shouldn’t stop.

6 Hawkes Bay Half put in a much better effort at Manawatu midweek & has put in his best two efforts on this track. 4 Paperback was bumped at the first bend when leading in her downgrade run.
